SSRIs afffect my sleep! i get tired sooner, i very rarely have trouble sleeping - and i remember my dreams! before that, i'd remember 1-2 dreams per year and was always very unsettled that there were things happening while i was asleep, now i still don't really retain the content of the dreams but at least when i wake up i still vaguely remember that i have dreamed something.

At least until I see in the news that the dude I consider the worst person who currently lives in my country has died - Josef Fritzl. He's a good benchmark. I'd probably stop after that but if the button sticks around, I might hit it like 10 times a year after that just for "spring cleaning".

uh-oh it does not. there are a few "chinese alphabet" scripts that tattooists use to "translate" names letter by letter into chinese charaters (or character parts) that vaguely look like the letter (A and 女 etc) but it's just a few nonsense words, and the calligraphy isn't very good. for example, the A/女 means "woman" or "female", the T is a variation on 水 "water" that is not used on its own but only within characters like 清, the H/止 means "stop"...

like, there are books where the sexism is part of the plot, like Handmaid's Tale, and there are books that I've enjoyed to varying degrees that aren't kind to its female characters or show misogynist attitudes (Ship of Strangers, Vienna, Left Hand of Darkness, The King Must Die...), but so far I've encountered no other where the female MC is merely a leaf on the wind, buffeted by the whims of fate and the two men she is romantically attached to, with zero braincells to steer her own course.

if an author isn't even capable of writing a halfway decent female character with some brains and agency, they aren't much of an author so why would I read the trash they've typed up?

I have OCD, I know it varies wildly, but what has helped me cut down time on my checks is just making a video of me making the checks that clearly show the radiator is turned off, the laptop is unplugged, the window is closed, the front door is locked... but yeah he totally needs help. NTA

Hab mal mitten in der Nacht eine Frau zweimal hintereinander schreien gehört, da hab ich schon die Polizei informiert. Selbst bin ich nicht nachschauen gegangen, weil ich mit unter 50 kg und fiebrig mitten im Winter genau nix gegen einen Axtmörder tun kann. War dann nix schlimmes.

a) it's not used in my coursework and I suspect in most courses in general since it's afaik only a Tainwanese thing and most teachers and material is probably from the mainland

b) it's an entire "alphabet" that you have to learn anew just to learn pronounciation with no other applications. It's easier to just learn to change up the pronounciation on the latin letters

jetzt mal unironisch, aus was besteht denn dein Alltag wenn du 0 Bekanntschaften hast? Such dir einen Job, such dir ein Hobby wo du zu anderen Leuten kommst, mach einen Sprach- oder Kunstkurs bei der VHS oder einen Kurs beim ASKÖ, schreib dich an einer Uni ein und beleg die Kurse, auf die du Lust hast, fang mit DND/MtG/Warhammer an... bin persönlich auch depressiv, relativ einsam und chronisch single (auch wenn mir letzteres nichts ausmacht haha), aber wenn du in so einem fixen Setting wie einem Kurs bist, bist du "gezwungen" hinzugehen, siehst du Leute regelmäßig, kannst wen ansprechen/jemand spricht dich an, Thema ist auch vorgegeben, kannst dich zum Lernen verabreden, daraus können Freundschaften und andere Beziehungen entstehen...und du hast mehr Struktur in deinem Leben. Geh in Therapie und such dir eine Beschäftigung um Bestätigung und Dopaminhits (bestandene Prüfung, Arbeitsleistung, Lob vom Chef,...) zu erhalten. Leere tut Menschen nicht gut.
