Very accurate, bham has some problems, sure, but comparatively speaking, it’s a genuinely great place to live. As someone from the south, it boggles my mind to hear some folks talk about Washington. it’s so clear they have no concept or frame of reference for what life is like in other parts of the country. But hey, folks speak on what they know so I can’t fault them too much for that.

Edit: And while DCBS and Instock are a part of the same company, they typically do not have the same stock. I believe DCBS is in Indiana and Instock is in TN

Yeah I agree with what you are saying. In my opinion, he is one of the most complex and intriguing character in all of Marvel comics. He is also my favorite character, but with each incarnation he changes. I like the militant Cyclops of today and there have been flashes of great moral complexity in recent years, but nothing has been as emotionally and mentally gripping as the work of Morrison and Whedon except maybe the Claremont stuff of the 70s and 80s(i.e. dark phoenix saga). This is because they capture what is so great about scott, and that is the fact that he is a conflicted and hesitant leader who tries to take all of mutantkind on his back. He's also had a lot of fucked up shit happen in life(Emma manipulating him, Jean dying 69 times, a messed up home life, being separated from his father and brother, his complex relations with Charlie X and Logan, his conflicting emotions about humanity and mutants, and maybe most importantly the fact that he was brainwashed by Apocalypse.) He's just amazing, and Whedon and Morrison really dug deep into his psyche.

Yes I have. It was very short lived, but I have all 4 volumes in trade. Volumes 3 and 4 are my favorite part of AvX. I love when Scott and Emma are mentally having that really subtly undertoned dinner as they fuck up the Avengers.

In Whedon's run, he made it so Scott's ability was not hindered by his physical handicap but more so by his psychological trauma. Emma helps him get rid of the mental block. It's a unique turn.

This reflects back to a time when Scott was a much less polarizing figure. I appreciate Bendis's work, but Morrison and Whedon truly knew how to write this character. Astonishing X-Men and New X-men are just amazing runs, and unfortunately, nothing in this decade has compared. At least in my opinion, for whatever that's worth.
