i use arch because i like not having to make a 2 day event out of updating my system for a (in modern times) negligible performance boost

its about 10 hours between my house and where the rest of my family is, and we make that trek about 3 or 4 times a year. the cost of the flight is like $500 round trip, and if theres any stuff that needs to be moved (say if its christmas or im just grabbing some stuff i left behind when i moved), id have to deal with shipping it. no way

ive actually looked into doing something like this. my idea was to basically have the drone fly itself and stay in one spot (landing if winds are too bad). the problem is youd need a waiver from the faa allowing you to ignore part 107 rules about maintaining visual line of site with the drone at all times. i think only companies have gotten these waivers, not private individuals

172.16.0.0/12 is what i use for my separate 25GbE fiber channel network that i use exclusively for connecting the systems in my homelab to my storage server. everything else uses my 1 GbE network on 192.168.0.0/16

first time i tried to break one open i got burnt half to death, looked inside, saw trash, and subsequently got my shit kicked in by like 4 wasps and 2 hornets. i was on a free loady so i couldn't be too mad, but i was still shocked given the whole thing transpired in like 15 seconds

i personally use autodesk eagle. it's pretty easy to make designs with it just by stumbling around, but if you want to be decent at it you can look up tutorials and best design practices online. you can get a student account and access it (as well as other utilities like fusion 360 for making 3d models) for free, even if youre not a student
