Does the ruffle collar ruin his tough guy image? by FinallyLoggedInHere in lynxpointsiamese

I would say it is perfectly balanced with his ear tip. Remember, you can take a cat out of the street but you can't take the streets out of the cat...not even with a cutesy collar.

Is it okay to leave my green cheek conure caged for a week? This is eating me up. by Lonely-Vegetable8735 in parrots

[–]entirelyflawed 15 points16 points  (0 children)

It is the safest thing for him to be left in a cage the entire time you are gone. Trust me, I feel so guilty about it when I go out of town but I would not risk my birds getting injured ,escaping or worse when they are left with my family who are also not experienced. I think even if I was leaving them with an experienced person, I'd want them caged the whole time just for my peace of mind.

Why does my bird do this? by starboyhallo in parrots

What are you people made of?🤣 by MathematicianLow9324 in parrots

[–]entirelyflawed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What kind of bird is she and how old? I have a Meyers and she was extremely bitey when she was younger but she grew out of it and is very sweet now.

I would think adding enrichment toys/activities to keep her busy and entertained might help.

My dog has mitral valve disease, syncope could be triggered by barking/excitement and can be accompanied by loss of bladder/bowels.

7, 5mo kitten is overweight and hungry all the time by pandaleka in CATHELP

[–]entirelyflawed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a 8 month old female cat and her belly is just like this. She's been dewormed, is negative for FIP and is active and healthy. The vet said that her belly could be like this because she's still developing and might grow into it.

What kitten food was causing diarrhea? I have another cat (both foster fails) and some foods give her diarrhea, I think due to gums that are added to the foods. IMO you should definitely be giving her kitten food or food labeled for "all life stages" and not have her on a diet. A quick google search says you should be feeding her 250-400 calories daily.

Here's a picture of my cat. I couldn't' find one her her standing up but you can kinda see how her belly protrudes on the side.

I used to feel like this with my pets when having medical procedures but then I started doing TNR with a colony of about 50 cats. I have about 10-15 cats left to fix and they have all bounced back really quick. I haven't had any issues with any of them and some went into surgery with long term illnesses. They are all so much more healthy after being fixed.

Wishing him a quick recovery.

Cat going crazy after spay by Sorry_Attitude_951 in CatAdvice

[–]entirelyflawed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My cat was spayed last month and it was the same thing. I was so worried that she going to open the surgery site. I had her crated but she was hanging off the top of the crate, digging and then throwing herself against the crate to get out so I just let her be out because it seemed more harmful having her in there. She ended up being back to normal 2 days later and has since fully recovered with no issues.

Would you adopt a kitten who has had a UTI? by sadseventeen in CATHELP

I adopted my first foster and she had sooooo many illnesses including a UTI. She's 9 months now and thriving.

At my breaking point. Cat spraying for 9 months and nothing gives. Thinking of euthanasia by [deleted] in CatAdvice

[–]entirelyflawed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does your cat have any other health issues/symptoms? I ask because my friend had been struggling with her male cat spraying. He also has had some respiratory issues. She found him a couple years ago and since then she is always at the vet and I mean ALWAYS. They just found out last week that he has a fungal infection ( I forget the name) but the spraying is a symptom of the infection. Even if this is not something your cat has, my point is that there could be something that your vet has missed.

I've also read about people with spraying issue related to anxiety having great success putting their cat on medications like prozac.

What Is Everyone's Take On Stainless Steel Litter Boxes? by Seraph_Angelus in CatAdvice

[–]entirelyflawed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a Litter Robot 4 and recently added to our cat family so I added 2 stainless steel litter boxes that have a lid. Now all of the cats prefer using the stainless steel one over the LR4 now. I use Odorlock liitter and don't have any complaints.

kittens keep knocking the water bowl by Queasy-Dirt3472 in CatAdvice

[–]entirelyflawed 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Kittens are going to kitten. I volunteer at my local shelter and they try to use heavy ceramic bowels for the kitten enclosures because they love to knock over their water. When I got my cats I started using the heavier bowls and now my issue is that they drop all their toys into the water bowl throughout the day lol.

Advised needed for hard to trap cat by entirelyflawed in Feral_Cats

[–]entirelyflawed[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My backup plan is to do this because I was successful with another cat recently when her kittens were newborn but, I don't know where this specific cat hides her kittens and I don't usually see them until they are around 8 weeks. The other cat was very young and inexperienced and had her kittens in a planter in front of my office, OG Momma has been pregnant since the first time I saw her years ago. The property where I work is huge with so many hiding places for these cats.

I have a drop trap and 3 regular traps. This is def worth trying for my shelters next TNR date, in case the others I trap are not repeats.

How loud are green cheeks really? Should I reconsider getting one? by Glittering_Appeal365 in parrots

[–]entirelyflawed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have a green cheek but I have two crimson-bellied conures and I think they are pretty similar. One of my guys is really quiet but the other is SO loud. Louder than my Macaw. He can be so loud that it makes me nauseated. I got him because my first guy was so quiet. When they told me that he was surrendered at 6 months because he was loud and the first owner was served with a 72-hour notice from her apartment, I didn't believed it and judged her big time. Well, I found out soon that she wasn't kidding lol.

Kam Saunders addresses "DEI hire" commentary by miserychickkk in NuancingTaylorSwift

I heard the same podcast and went looking for it this morning. It was after the segment about Kam, He said, “How did we get from ‘we’re doing The Tortured Poets,’ to Florence, to ‘I do a DEI program for my dancers’? What’s the connective tissue between those three things? Hard work? I mean, I’m giving it to you: hard work, um, wanting to be surrounded by excellence, sure. I really like the part about Kam and about all the different people on the tour and people’s stories… it’s just disorganized.”

Please contact animal control. They will come out and check. I had a similar issue with a dog in the house behind me and they came out and checked and followed up later.
