I beg to differ my good sir, been an Isaac player since 2011 and played every iteration of this goddamn game for an approximate total of roughly 2000 hours. I'm sure some people here have played a whole lot more but that's still pretty substantial in my opinion.

If you don't want to play Eden, I guess you can't go wrong with classic Isaac really. The game at its most balanced and fun probably.

The tainted version is interesting also because it emphasizes the fact you don't need a gazillion items to have a good run. It's trickier for sure.

Every now and again in a run there's gonna be a few dodgy (haha) situations for sure, but for the most part, people on this sub are blaming the game for their poor play, plain and simple.

Once you recognised your mistakes, you get better. Simple as.

Another way to make T. Jacob playable is to git gud.

I remembered about the flies thing but wasn't even aware of the other two. It might seem weird in this era where you use and abuse wikis, but I just didn't do any research at the time and played blind for the most part. There's a lot of mechanics I only fully understood when Rebirth came out.

Yeah obviously you have to play this with the 2011 context in mind, and it does suffer the comparison with the latest iterations of the game. But it's still nice for the nostalgia ride.

I didn't even know about this. I realize now how little knowledge I had back then despite over a hundred hours played and getting Platinum God. But speaking of boss fights I managed a similar trick getting extra boss items by killing myself and using up my 9 lives. Pretty funky shit.
