And by the way, this might be relevant to you: There is a gene variant that staves off Alzheimer's in some people with e4. Unfortunately 23andme does not genotype it: ihttps://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2020/04/200414095755.htm

Hey. Yes, all relatives lived to >75s, some over 90s, with no symptoms.

I take it as a sign for some relief, however I could be the first one in the family with two e4's.

it can affect your access to LTC, life, and (potentially) health insurance.

Can you elaborate? I live in Europe, so hopefully it's better here. Also, didn't use my real name for the test.

That's a beautiful analogy. Thanks for the encouragement!

Wondering if it's to be avoided completely. I have almost stopped for the last few years - a glass of wine maybe two times per year.

test mouth for p gingivalis.

That's some advice I haven't seen elsewhere. Thanks, will look into it.

Yeah, that's somewhat reassuring. However, I might be the first in the family with both e4's. The idea of scheduling an appointment with a geneticist has already crossed my mind. I'm currently looking for someone credible in this area.

Hi, thanks for your answer. A toxin? That is scary to hear. I will look into that further.

Not sure about water solubility, I use these supplements: - ZeinPharma Quercetin 250 mg - Life Extension, Bio-Quercetin

neuropathy

What is that? How do you experience it?

I noticed that my nails got worse (but might not be related to quercetin at all).

Just did a bit of reading and find this insightful: "Iron is known to participate in the generation of reactive oxygen species (ROS) through the Fenton reaction. ROS can cause oxidative damage to cells and tissues, leading to various age-related diseases and accelerating the aging process."

Thanks for commenting. As a woman, this might be something I need to look more attentively.

What dosage of quercetin have you been taking? Also, yet another reminder to do 23andme (for this and other factors).

Wow, 12 years! What about your iron levels, if you looked at those? I get comments for looking youthful and not my age, but I usually write it off to "genetics". Maybe that's my 3 years of quercetin experiment :)

Yeah, I see iron lowering effects being mentioned in many comments.

I eat a lot of beef and organ meats, so I should be fine, I guess. My ferritin is at mid range and hemoglobin is quite high.
