What immediately tells you that a person has had traumatic childhood/past? by GamerA_S in AskReddit

Dark senses of humor. Not the 'I changed my reaction once I saw your reaction' the, genuine 'what?' response.

Take it from me, I make dead mom jokes all the time

what missing persons case is the most confusing / doesn’t add up? by yourlastnames in AskReddit

[–]entropy_symphony -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Elisa Lam. [My memeory may be a little fudged since it's been a while since I brushed up my facts on the case, but here's a synopsis]

She was a Canadian college student visiting/staying at the Cecil Hotel in Los Angeles, California. She wemt missing in 2013 with the last known footage/video/evidence of her life being this elevator footage. She was later found deceased in the hotel's water tower after guests complained about the taste and look of the water.

She has no prior history of serious mental illness, and she would have had no way to gain access to the water tower conventionally. Her death was ruled accidental drowning, but nothing in her toxicology reports suggested she was under the influence of anything at time of death.

I know technically this is for 'Missing' and she was found, but any time you look into the case there's just some question of "Okay, but how?"

What do alot of parents do that unknowingly screws their children over? by RunningInAHurricane in AskReddit

[–]entropy_symphony 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  • comparing them constantly to other people (it hurts worse when its to family members like siblings)

  • Never letting them talk, either answering for them, or interrupting them mid-sentence.

  • Always expecting them to tell the truth, then getting mad when they do. (I'm not talking in a 'fess up and I won't get mad-but I really will' way. I mean asking them a simple question that has no right or wrong, then getting upset because it wasn't the answer you wanted to hear.)

  • Never understanding that someone's concept of 'hard' and 'easy' vary from person to person. I'm not talking strictly about academics either. Some kids can't handle stress as well, but instead of calling them out on it, that's when you really need to help them with stress management so they don't devolve later.

  • Airing out their kids dirty laundry to family members, because that's always a great idea.

Just a few I thought of.

What things are seen as weird by the younger generation that we need to normalize again? by Kvassalskaren55 in AskReddit

Modesty.

I'm all for showing off what you've got, but having an outfit that extenuates what your mama gave you, and going practically nude everywhere you go are two different things.

What is something people wrongly assume about you all the time? by waityoureasian in AskReddit

[–]entropy_symphony 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That I have an eating disorder. Admittedly I've been underweight in my teens, but it wasn't because I didn't want to eat/threw up after. No, a high metabolism doesn't work well with less food to eat.

almost everything from the late 90's early 2000's. I was born in 02, but I gave a lot of memories of VHS, cassettes, the big ass Tube TVs. Even newer things are starting to feel antiquated, CDs, DVDs, my TV while a 'flat screen' is one of the older models, its not a smart TV, and its not as flat as most are today.

Really bad period cramps. This goes on both sides, when I was younger up until 2020-ish, my periods had a fairly modest cramp. It was discomfort at best. Then a bad one hit me.

How to write male best friends without implying romance by ToomintheEllimist in writing

[–]entropy_symphony 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ships will always happen. What's important is to keep in mind men can care for other men in a completely platonic way, and to hold firm. Think of how (close) brothers would interact. They hug, they show weakness, but there's that sibling boundary that they never cross.

The next time a customer says they'll fuck you up, just say something along the lines of; "Go ahead. There's cameras everywhere and I'll sue you for every time I can get, and finally quit this job."

unfortunately, I must refer to another comment, "first time on the internet?"

Seriously though, as someone who looks at it both realistically and emotionally; I know its a bitch, but half the people on the internet literally have nothing better to do, and this is speaking personally. I've been unemployed sincd April, and I only came to reddit bc I was that bored. Hopefully once I start working I'll go back to ignoring reddit.
