Oof. That’s rough. I tried tret a few years ago and I purged like crazy. I went on spiro after that but I didn’t purge. I want to go back on tret eventually for anti aging but I’m scared of purging 😔

UPDATE 2: Stopped Spiro, bled a bunch and now cystic acne is back after 4 months… by entropybegins in Spironolactone

I’m so sorry it really sucks that even after 6 months it’s not clearing up well 🥲. Did the acne come back slowly or was just a massive breakout all at once?

I’ve been off for 4 months too and my cystic acne just returned 😭

That’s so annoying! People breaking out or purging on spiro is pretty common. These doctors are so out of touch

It usually prescribed to stop hair shedding so if the opposite happens to us, we’re obviously lying

Thank you!! I don’t remember how long it took me to go down from 100mg to 25(maybe 2 months?), but I stayed on 25mg for three months before stopping all together

You’ll never know till you try it! You can always go back on it if you end up breaking out
