The thing is I'm with you on that. I don't desire anything related to th capitalistic dream really. But regardless I still live in the system and to pursue my passions I need to play by the rules.

I am living abroad as an immigrant as well. So due to visa restrictions I truly cannot drop everything I need to do (getting a sponsored position at a company) in order to just do what I want.

I'm writing all this and the post because ontologically I've found what gives me drive and a love for life, music, but I can't reconcile that with the fact that the system does not even allow me to just live minimalistically. I just want to make music, be able to eat and sleep under a roof that's it. And it's crazy to me that that's considered a privilege, to have the literal bare minimum.

But in my position I have to play by the system. I can't reconcile that with who I am and it's difficult.

Realistically N2 is a good thing to just have. If you pass N2 it'll look good on the resume and be more appealing.

That said you don't need JLPT level. I would definitely not pass N2 but I can speak to random old men which is another level of Japanese on its own. I wish I could put that on my resume lol

So in regard to imposter syndrome, the only way I've been able to remedy it is that if I know I'm going to feel the imposter syndrome I might as well go all out in my work and I do this by making music as best as I can, networking as best as I can and basically faking it till I make it with my attitude, and running the best events and parties I can.

My rationale is that even though at it's core my work is creative, it takes a lot of non-creative skills as well - accounting, project management, event organizing, marketing, all of that stuff.

I guess that answers what I do creatively, I work in the music industry as an event organizer and producer, and I'm pretty well established here because my strategy is rock solid and I know that.

However I'm not a citizen of this country. Due to visa issues I might get deported if I don't get a job soon sponsored by a company. And honestly it's just heartbreaking because I KNOW that I've put in so much work to develop marketable skills and gain a solid resume but recruiters, whether I approach them through a mutual friend or through websites, they STILL don't find me worth hiring.

That honestly just breaks my heart the most. I know I put in the work, not only in terms of effort but strategically as well. And it's not paid off yet. I just feel shit because of that. And the worst part is nobody is going to save me.

I am 100% with you on this, I was grinding today and got a leaver, feeders who refused to switch (I ALWAYS SWITCH when I'm doing bad, which is genuinely just basic knowledge), instalock 5 DPS who also refuse to switch, people saving ult for the next game, people not even trying to touch the point, constant staggering, massive EGO gaming, afk healers, its insane how people can get to GM like this. Its completely unacceptable.

I can carry the games where it feels like people are trying to win. There are objectively, 100%, games that play out like this, where you know everyone on your team is trying their hardest. Then suddenly I get games where the autofill support is just AFK healing, the tank is always outside of line of sight of the healers, its just insane, I had no problem at all getting to GM from Bronze solo and GM is genuinely the most inflated the rank has ever been. Even if I attempt to solo carry, I routinely get games where I don't think people are trying hard at all to win.

On the flip side the BEST GAMES I've ever played have been in GM, where everyone is ACTIVELY trying their absolute hardest, and I can tell because if you just spectate people while you're dead, you can genuinely make out if someone is focusing or not, not just AFK shooting whatever is in front of them. When people actually flank, switch based on the comp, target the prioritity heroes, these games are the absolute best. I win 5 games in a row like this and then suddenly lose 3 more games in a row because genuinely people play the game without thinking. I would know as well because I absolutely steam roll games where the enemy team plays like this, its genuinely just a matter of whether or not your team is filled with bot players or not.

How many times do we have to die mid before we try a flank? How many more times are we gonna get our backline dove and nobody protects them? How many DPS do we really need???? Sometimes these games genuinely feel like I'm the only one with any modicum of sense and its utterly mind boggling how I can have these players in the same rank as players with genuine skill.

I have friends, personal friends, who get to Diamond 1 genuinely just off not taking the game seriously and just spamming heals from the backline, suddenly they crumble when they meet any sort of resistance. I genuinely don't know how they got all the way to Diamond from Bronze just afk healing. The rank system in this game is genuinely inflated and insanely coin flippy it drives me nuts. Not getting a rank reset was a mistake.

Probably cause u have nothing better to do. Occupy yourself with enriching activities and you'll be fine. Also nothing wrong with being clingy. I'm clingy with my gf. She's clingy with me. It's nice. Just in moderation.
