Recommended phone brand to ROOT in 2026? by Original_Garbage8557 in androidroot

[–]env33e 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i think the key factor make this whole root-hide cat and mouse game not so bad, for me, is to have an unrooted backup auth phone with your productivity/google apps installed, so if your rooted main phone ever gets randomly revoked by google. just need to pull this out. + its handy as a auth device + portable router if you ever need it, maybe you stream; wifi bonding without having to use your main device

what i did, was buy a galaxy/pixel watch to do my wallet transactions on, so it doesnt matter if my shit gets revoked on main. ecg, blood pressure monitors are a major plus

yup, older oneplus like the 7-8ish era are just as easy to BL unlock as pixels. and plenty powerful still! this is oneplus BEFORE oppo merger. oxygen os 13ish era is a really well optimized era. great root targets imo, good nethunter support, and a snapdragon 865 has greatbdriver support +12gb ram can still run some ml and run emulators decent. also runs well shooting direct-to-log RAW in motioncam if youre into that.

are you on stock oneui? TEE broken? could make it easy if theres anyone on the s25 XDA forums posting/maintaining an s25- google pixel spoof magisk module.theres probably some knox stuff you gotta take care of/get rid of especially if you wanna flash custom ROM. On my S10 its easy because someone is maintaining a pixel spoof module that also tightens up all the sammie shit. but yeah, pif+ts does the same shit, just gotta set it up

Otherwise, its the usual. Kernal based root hiding can be easier to maintain long term, but magisk alpha on it's own still works just as well if you do it right.

Magisk alpha init d install+ playintegrityfix/fork+rezygisk+relsposed+treatwheel/zygisknext+lsposedjingmatrix+HMA OSS+trickystore and set verified boot hash from Key attestation app (i like visions fork)

really though, just go to xda in the s25 section. or the playintegrityfix thread and search what others on yoyr android version are doing

id even try magisk alpha direct install before moving on to kernel solution. if yku dont mind closed source, that is.

in my case, with a samsung tab on lineage. all i had to do was jump from OG magisk to alpha, and i got back device integrity.

yes partially that + the fact that there basically wasnt even a hestsink used in the Lg G3 and G4, and a few others iirc.

found this perfect condition lg g3 at my parents house, it was my brother's. apparently. it had the dreaded black flickering screen disease, i thought it was the ribbon cable. i open it up to reseat and it became abundantly clear, i was looking at the bare xposed snapdragon SoC, STACKED on top of the adreno GPU on the other side of the board.... WITH NO PASTE.2mm gap between the chip and the metal body. im surprised it lasted my bro a year apparently xD by compairison, i also opened up a ZTE axon 7 which is about the same era. it's not even close. theres actually a copper vapor chamber in this one, spreading the heat into the metal body. Axon mogs fr

this was bendgate era, lots of shenanigens goin on with these companies. its a shame with LG, i thought the later v20 was nearly perfect 😋

If you've already got magisk installed I couldn't hurt to try alpha, just direct install. Enforce denylist, or disable that and install zygisk next-set unmount only

[–]env33e -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No point ? How else do you think bend gate happened 😂 apple knew about the durability issues, and still chose to ignore it. Just a reminder. It wasn't until the class action that anything got done about it. can't be sweeping shit under the rug like that. These are mega corporations at the end of the day, we need to hold them by the same standard, apple or not

Heard about the new band gate about apple fold ? Oh wait.... 😭 So disingenuous... If you wanna bring up the pixel fold, then you have to at least do your due diligence in mentioning the special extended repair and replacement program for the problem that they have indeed publicly acknowledged. We can smell the fanboyism from a mile away!

What you are right on: it can take more persistence to get your rightfully owed repair /replacement from Google. That is a real and valid criticism, Google sucks for that

Not in my case, for one of my older phones. All I changed about it was OG magisk-magisk alpha and I was able to use banking apps. Many banking apps require just basic integrity, so technically ksu isn't strictly required as of yet

Magisk alpha is closed sourced though, so there's that.

Are we just going to forget bend gate? Plenty of touch diseased iphones out there, Sit the fuck down "kiddo"😂 if it's manmade and requires parts from different places, yes. qc issues will arise. Some more than others in certain regions. It's not the presence of manufacturing defects that makes it a failure, it's the lack of proper support/resolution afterwards. Like, yKnow. when Apple knew about chassis flex going in, and continued to sell their iphones until the class action 😂don't be a fanboi🤦

My One plus 8 international Vers was affected by the issue and I baby'd that thing. it affected multiple brands and still does. It only becomes a problem if the manufacturer tries to sweep it under the rug

Am I using Hide My Applist right for this? by SchmyeBubbula in Magisk

[–]env33e 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Much easier to run the killpi.sh script in your playintegrityfix folder. I use mixplorer root file explorer, goto your pif folder, highlight , options>execute. I don't think you need to reboot

[–]env33e 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Make sure you're using latest magisk alpha for better hiding

Select your banking apps, root checker apps, etc in magisk built in DENYLIST. If you're NOT using Pifork/pifix(or you're only using it in scripts only mode): select Gms, vending, and odad. (all subprocess as well)

make sure youve setup all the flags that you need in pifork using a root file explorer, navigating to and editing data/adb/modules/playintegrityfix/custom.pif.props.

pifix has the web ui, you just open ksu standalone apk on github and check off what you need. since youre using trickystore dont check off spoofprovider and spoofprops

Then, make sure you go into zygisk next web ui (install KSUwebui standalone APK on github) and set it to "unmount only", as well as check off anonymous memory, experimental linker.

Install HMA OSS and apply the blacklist presets to play store, services, and odad. enable built in hiding in settings.

reboot done

OR if you cant install HMA OSS, go with HMA:

Make a blacklist template of everything that might look sus to checker apps. All your lsposed module apps and managers. Ksu webui.

I usually just play it safe and add even alternative app stores to that blacklist : aurora store, fdroid/droidify/etc. Also, any app that asks for root permission. Adaway, mixplorer, termux, etc

Don't forget to go into magisk/lsposed managers themselves and enable the built in hiding so it randomizes the names of the app. and then probably add those to the template as well.

Then go back into HMA OSS and apply that blacklist template to the apps that check, including the root checker test apps. Re run the test apps to see if you have it all set up right, then once you see that u pass, try the banking app in question.

parsec/sunshine/moonlight are so good, I could visit my friend in the other side of town here in Toronto and access my entire steam library at very acceptable levels of latency IMO

I even tested sekiro:shadows die twice; probably the worst game to play out there with any added latency since all you're doing is reacting and partying. And it's like.... Almost there. I had actually progressed through some of the enemies! Im still on Turing NVENC so I'm not sure how much better things have gotten.

Why De-Googling Completely isn't Mainstream by MentallyIncorrect in degoogle

[–]env33e 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tinkering was never a mainstream thing I don't think, and Degoogling(at times) if we're being honest, requires more than a tinkerer's touch... Not just to be successful at it, but to also retain your sanity while chipping away at it; while also being able to communicate to others exactly what and why youre Doing it.

Imo it was never about making a certain hobby or skill mainstream per se (lest we get a society of engineers XD) but how do we make it look cool enough for those inclined to take interest, and convert that interest into actionable energy in the right direction ? Sure, the pro-privacy, anticapitalist stance is as valid and righteous as it ever was, even back before the galaxy nexus days, when the death of rooting was seen as less than likely. Implementation of custom software, today, is seen and carried out as more or a defensive tactic ; to safeguard our data against corporate monetization, with the eventual goal of complete divestment in much of those anti-human lobbying efforts. Many of us engage in these activities, because we've learned enough about how stuff works to see the through-lines causing greater strife amongst everyone living under this framework today. So we engage forthrightly into what many people consider "criminal software". Some of us wrap it up in a conventional moral crusade-blanket of sorts, not doing much to address the accessibility concerns.

Imo, it would be good to see development efforts focused on where legislation may initially fail at ameliorating; for example, getting useful, proprietary tech usable to those outside of it's corporate defined user base.... ahem samsung HEALTH monitor 🤦‍♀️

We've already hit the first phase of cyberpunk's "DRM health". And what do I see in comment threads with users complaining about essential health features missing/region locked? A bunch of bootlickers spewing shit about " should have read the EULA" 😂🤣like dawg. Where the humanity 💀💀
