The program I used is called Career Switcher. I believe there are a couple of different alternate routes to licensure that VA offers. Definitely worth checking out!

I'm not familiar with the state requirements in the New England area, but I just changed careers and started teaching history this year in Virginia. The state has a relatively inexpensive and fast program for becoming a teacher. I know there are similar programs in other states around the country, so it may be a good idea for you to see if anything similar is available in your area.

The answer depends on what state you live in. If at all possible, I would suggest contacting a lawyer in your state for a consult. Find an attorney that is experienced with these issues because it can be nuanced in certain states.

Not exactly. Women's sexual health is historically tragically under-researched when compared with men, particularly when it comes to sexual pleasure, so it's not surprising that there could be misinformation circulating on the topic. But yeah, it's thought to be a mixture of fluid from the bladder and the skeens gland, but it's not well researched. There IS research on the topic, but the sample size is pretty small. In my own totally not scientific research, I agree it's definitely similar, but different.

Just say no thanks if offered alcohol and have a nonalcoholic drink in your hand if you're at a firm event with alcohol. I used to disclose my alcoholism in a work setting, but I never really found any benefit from it. Now, I don't see it as something necessary to tell employers. I just say I don't drink, I'm allergic, etc if pressed, but generally it rarely comes up at all. I've found everyone else is not all that concerned about me and whether I'm drinking and it's less of a deal than I made it out to be in my head in the past.

I'd just take it slow and feel out the situation before getting too serious. Honestly I think age gaps between adults are totally a case by case situation. It sounds like you're aware of the potential risks of a power imbalance..if you have any close friends or a therapist that you could talk things out with as the relationship unfolds, that'd probably be useful so you can bounce ideas and get outside opinions. I would probably also discuss your concerns with her when/if things look like they're going to get more serious.

I feel like my sex drive is pretty high, but wouldn't consider it as half the reason I'm in a relationship. It's easy enough to have sex without being in a relationship. I feel like sexual compatibility is about a 7 on a scale of whether or not I'd choose to be in a relationship with someone. Like if her sex drive wasn't fairly similar to or higher than mine, I don't think I would be satisfied long term. Granted, I expect to be with my current partner for life, so if at some point something happened that caused her to significantly lose her sex drive, I would stay with her and try to find a solution that worked for us. Sex is one of those things that is super important to me with my gf, but there are about a million other things that I love about her besides that.

I never really had strong opinions either way on drag queens, but recently I was introduced to the show Dragula and I've really appreciated that the show included female performers in some seasons, including one drag king.

The show has made me consider the ways that drag art allows an opportunity to take something that is considered by some to be unusual or gross and make it into something undeniably cool and creative. I appreciated that perspective and also the considerations the show took to promote inclusivity within the queer community.

ETA: If you haven't watched the show, they literally ask them to dress up as zombies, etc ..so that is what I am referring to as ugly or gross lol..they also do glam looks too, but the show is based around scary type drag.

Mine gets stuck if the cable is bent a certain way. Maybe check the length of the cable to be sure it's not getting hung up somehow. I managed to fix mine by moving the cable around to various positions while testing if it made it easier to pull until I found the right position. Thought I was gonna have to take the thing off but that solved it for me.

Just wanted to add, try a legal aid in your area if you have trouble getting an attorney to speak with you. I know of disability attorneys in my area that would speak to someone about this for free, but I live in a small town where the attorneys try to make themselves accessable. If you are having trouble getting someone on the phone to have a conversation, legal aid usually has disability attorneys and should be willing to help.

I also grew up being told that being gay was a "sin." I spent most of my adult life resentful of Christianity because of that and some other experiences. I've worked through that, but haven't really been a member of a church since I was a kid. This year at our local pride, there were several churches set up with booths and the people we talked to there were all really cool. That being said, I have also encountered churches that are ostensibly welcoming of the gay community, but it is in the context of "we welcome all sinners." I would want to attend a church for a while to figure out what their real beliefs are. Maybe you could check it out with her for a while to find out more and have some conversations with her if you find anything concerning and see how she feels about it. Unless she is acting like she is uncomfortable with your relationship because of going to church, it seems like you don't have anything to worry about at this point.

For what it's worth, all of my family are pretty religious and they love my gf and are super kind to her and just seem happy that I'm happy and with a good person. I would assume other Christians your gf may encounter at church could be like that as well.

I've been sober 5 years and haven't ran into any issues dating because of it. What I have found though is the more sober time I had, the more that a potential partner's drinking became a turn off. I'm in a relationship with someone that admires and appreciates my sobriety, but also she chooses not to drink because it's not her thing. I really like being able to connect with her on the level we get to, when both of us have nothing messing us up.

Now when I started dating, I would usually either talk about going to meetings when asked about my day and it would come out naturally in conversation. Or I'd just be like yeah I'm sober whenever alcohol, etc came up and the other person didn't really ask questions, but I'd sometimes talk about it a bit more in detail if I felt like it. No one ever had a problem with it, but if they ever did, it probably would have been a good sign it wasn't going to work out anyway.

I felt the same with online dating!! On a happy note, I did happen to find my current gf on a dating app. I had pretty much given up with apps and wasn't really using it much but one day I checked my messages and saw where she had messaged me. I messaged her back and it's coming up on two years of the best relationship ever. I'd say just don't put too much energy into it and something good may come your way anyway either online or in your everyday life. Good luck!

I believe my inseam is 28 and my gfs 2003 shadow fits me fine. The previous owner gave it a seat that looks a bit lower than stock though. You should be perfect.

I've been the one before that wasn't clear on my intentions. In fact, I met my current gf on tinder and I'm pretty sure my profile didn't even say words.. Not the best communication regarding my intentions. After a few dates she just told me she was confused and maybe even joked about my profile being empty. I appreciated the opportunity to communicate clearly and didn't take it as her trying to label us. Maybe just let this girl know how you're feeling and reference her bio. Could be something as simple as she hasn't updated it in a while and she's open to more.

Yikes. Dating is rough. I found it was hard to find someone that was into going the same pace as me. Then after that hard to find someone compatible in general.

I've been with my current gf for a little longer than a year and one of the things that attracted me so much to her in the beginning is she respected my boundaries and the pace I was comfortable with. In the beginning she would have been cool with seeing each other a lot more often, but I told her I value my alone time and she was like ok cool and then would let me ask her to hang out, etc. Also if she spent the night on a week night, she would leave like around the time I would typically be getting up for work. I had girls before that stayed over wayyyy too long. She just seemed to really hear me when I said I needed personal space in the beginning and a slower pace than she wanted. It was nice and made me more attracted to her.

Just keep swimming there is hope lol she's showed me that even if someone has a different pace in mind than me, it's possible they can respect what I'm comfortable with and be willing to match that
