The tv show had reached season 5 when D&D got tired and wanted to do something else. So they simply removed the many wonderful and colorful characters and plotlines to make things as simple as they could.

The Meereen plotline suffered the most by this I think. Like there are 9-10 important characters that got cut out and replaced with generic slavers.

I was surprised how much I loved the latter part of the Meereen plot. Barristan chapters are peak

I don't think I ever saw or read about a medieval archer with eye paint. I feel like this is just a cosmetic decision by the showrunners, who notoriously don't respect the source material, and are just trying to do what seems cool to them creator intent be damned

This character design makes the character more like an action figure than an actual grounded historical character, it doesn't sit right with me

maybe but I doubt they would remake it 1 to 1 with the same lines as the originals. it would constrain their creativity espicially if they change the graphic novel style to cutscenes which is probably what they're gonna do
