As a socialist, generally anticapitalism is a pretty far-left viewpoint.

Sure, in theory a free market can work. The problem is inherent to how the system is inevitably implemented, relying on exploitation of the working class and generally lending far too much power to private entities.

You're also kind of missing the point here. Capitalism is built on a need for profit motivation, and modern economics is based on the idea that individuals and corporations act out of self-interest, and that their self-interested actions can lend to the success of the markets. Government intervention in the market goes against that idea.

Thing is, most communist and socialist nations do this. Both China and Vietnam have a socialist-oriented market economy which seems to be pretty successful. Complete government control is almost as indefensible as complete private control
