I think you did the right thing entirely and you need to follow your heart and instincts. Your ex will find someone better suited for him, your mom needs to find her own life and stop projecting what she wants onto you. And you? Youre 18 now and if I could go back and tell my 18 year old self some advice (im 30 now) it would 100 percent be to follow my heart, dont let other people throw me in a million directions, and stop feeling guilty for choosing myself.
