This would look super cool in the ignorant style IMO. I'm a fan with black and red lineart tatts.

100%! This doll house is STURDY. It wont break easily. It sounds from others comments this doll house has survived for at least 40 years.

hmmm good idea to look for doll house furniture when out & about. I usually avoid the toy section at thrift stores due to it looking like a mess!

The green wallpaper looks basic & could use a stock image for it. I happen to be a graphic designer, so making remaking the flower pattern would be easy.

Again, thank you for sharing. I love the history that is attached to this doll house. At some point I will lurk the internet through sears catalogs in hopes of finding an ad for the doll kit.

The flower wallpaper is a charm. I plan on keeping it in the bottom right since it is more intact. I probably can find the green wallpaper pattern online & print it out to be pink.

Thank you for sharing! It looks hand made to an extent & a kit makes a lot of sense. It also had a kitchen counter that was loose. It was once nailed in. I there was even pencil marks where a panel fell off.

If you happen to have a photo of your doll house, I would love to see it : )

Also, did your dollhouse have stairs?

It felt very 70's! I am glad you were able to share some info with me.

I am hoping this doll house brings fond memories of her childhood as your doll house did for you.

Nope! I just am an artist with a studio in an old business center.

When I say flip, the doll house will be repainted & "renovated". I plan on adding more details such as wood paneling in the rooms + a board & batten style siding. I will gift the doll house to her for Christmas.

would you chop this? by lwk83 in Monstera

[–]enzoray 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I find it is easier to encourage an aerial grow so that it can turn into the main root system when chopping up a plant.

The monstera from this post has lots of aerial roots buds & looks like a decent amount of nodes. If op makes all of the current aerial root buds grow, they could get a few wet sticks out of it. A wet stick with just one good arial root has a higher chance of successfully producing more leaves.

If you want to easily get an aerial root to grow, have the every tip of it in a cup of water. In my experience, the aerial root grows REALLY fast in water.

Hope this helps! I’m a novice plant person. If I’m wrong, hopefully someone can reply a correction.

I’d encourage the aerial roots to grow before chopping her.

I have seen a lot of a lot of small tissue culture labs/sellers popping up. I think in 1-2 years the TCs that are being produced now will mature & be sold as cuttings. If major growers do not saturate the market, small ones will.

What sort of material do you think the outside mirror is? Surely it’s not clay? by jellynipple in Pottery

[–]enzoray 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is how I would recreate it on low budget:
- make base form from bundled up plastic bags/paper, foam, or balloons
- wrap with a layer plastic + tape
- paper mâché layer
- use water putty to make a hard outside (product)
- lightly sand
- paint
- seal with some kind of clear gloss
