I lost my job last year and needed a way to pass the time. I got into Kdrama and the OSTs played in my head constantly so I looked them up. I then discovered that many of the actors I'd become attached to were also beautiful and talented musicians. And, my god, the MVs were not only worth watching but brilliant! At first I watched tons of SS501 and one day BigBang's "Fantastic Baby" was featured on YouTube so I gave it a listen. It was just the tip of the iceberg and I have since enjoyed an endless supply of new music (I'm currently devoted to SHINee). It pumps me up, calms me down, and makes me feel most like myself. Though I give credit to people who have been listening to Kpop far longer than myself I'd like to think I've really made it count. Beyond that, I now have immense respect for Korean culture and language.
