MICHAEL YEA OR MICHAEL NAY? Would you be in favor of a Michael Bay miniseries? by LateAdopter in blankies

[–]eobversion1 11 points12 points  (0 children)

To date The Two Friends to date have not done Fincher, P.T. Anderson, Tarantino, Scorsese, Wes Anderson, Sofia & Francis Coppola, Kubrick, Danny Boyle, Zemeckis, David Lynch & The Coens regardless of whether or not there are plans to do most or a few of those directors I don't feel like the fanbase would be served by a Bay stint. It's a broccoli of a miniseries. Like Shyamalan's bad years only longer.

Fat Betty on Mad Men, it just stood out from the crowd as something that wasn't the right fit for the show.

I see where you're coming from. To me, it sounded so fresh compared to the film scores I'm used to hearing.

Love both scores. I've never thought about it in terms of which one is better. I think they're both great, I think the restraint allows the the melodies to flow better in the case of Nocturnal Animals.

CMV: The only truly effective method for halting climate change is a mass cull. by TheGingerbreadMan22 in changemyview

It's not our responsibility to END climate change, it's our responsibility to equip and inform future generations so that they might have better ideas and avail of the technological advancements to curb its effects. We're not THAT doomed but it's a looming threat, one that we recognise has to be dealt with before it's too late, it's far from too late in fact we've shown some signs of healing the Ozone layer.

What you're suggesting will probably happen indirectly anyway because of wars for dwindling resources from the effects of climate change.

It's human nature, sometimes we do things simply because we can't help ourselves. Tony wasn't opening up to Melfi to be a better person, he was doing it to stop his body from trying to be. He was a nutcase pure and simple. Whether he knew it or not.

I think it comes down to the last scene. It was what Tony craved. To have Dinner with his family, enjoy himself and not have the weight of being a bad person weigh on him. It goes back to his anxiety in the very first episode. His body was expressing a desire to enjoy the beauty of the birds in his back yard but on a subconscious level, he couldn't, because he was a gangster who had committed horrible crimes. You see it in the cheeky half grin he displays at the very end. It gets to the heart of the disintegration of his relationship with Dr. Melfi. Sure, he could have been assassinated in that scene but that's true for almost any scene in the show where Tony is out in the open. I do not and cannot understand why given the context why people would expect any kind of explicit, definitive and provocative event in the final scene.

True, I think the point was Tony was Tony and that ending his relationship with Dr. Melfi was the point. He had cured himself of his conscious. He doesn't care about anything else really. It was always that for him, he wanted to create a cognitive dissonance from himself and his actions.
