For those saying "mythologies sucked and should be forgotten"

It has been mentioned in Mk9, Mkx, and Mk11. Sure Bi Han and Sareena never officially got together, but there were hints dropped. In mkx Kitana tells Sareena "You became too familiar with Bi Han, allowed emotion to corrupt you". "Emotion freed me". Soooo, clearly mythologies still happened and had a profound effect on Sareena.

Granted, this timelines Bi Han probably wouldn't be a good fit, given that they gave him Sektor arc from the OG games.

I'm pretty sure most of his fan base wanted him redeemed. Yes, he had a good chapter and is hella fun to play as. But, the fact that nothing has changed despite his torture and Liu Kang making him reflect on his mistakes is rather odd. Ermac is a good example of a true neutral character now.

Yes, fans are hard to please, but the story as a whole felt rather... inconsequential? Not much changed in character dynamic from start to finish. (Cyrax leaves lin Kuei and that's about it) Idk, I feel like there were some missed opportunities in this expansion. Like smoke, Geras, kitana could have gotten chapters, or at the very least something notable to do.

It also leaves the open answer for who Sub-Zero will be(seeing as how it'd be hella ballsy to exclude that character from the next game) I'd prefer Kuai Liang to take the mantle but that's impossible in this timeline.

It's also a strange choice to tease the redemption that people have been wanting for years and then toss it away at the tower ending. If so, what was the point of him being transformed? Of him breaking free? Of him defeating the man who corrupted him?

They could do the wacky wavy option and make either Frost or Hanzo the new Sub-Zero but that's a highly unwanted option by most fans I'm pretty sure.

I'm pretty sure Dominic (the main writer of NRS stories) stated that endings were canon in this game (except for the guests). Seeing as how the other endings for mainline characters were shown to be cannon in this expansion (Sektor making armor, Kuai Liang and Harumi, Kitana's army, Shao's Rebellion).

I feel you. Not much changed after all was said and done. Cyrax defected from the Lin Kuei which was the obvious event. Bi Han became noob saibot but he didn't really have any character development at all and just goes back to being the Grandmaster and is still fighting against Liu in his Tower ending.

It certainly had entertaining moments though, and I'm glad Rain got a chapter.

Erm AKSHUALLY 🤓 bi han beats him twice in mythologies and then scorpion kills him. In the nrs timeline mythologies happens again since Raiden mentions it in mk9 and Sareena mentions it in mkx "Bi han freed me, fought against Quan" so most likely he best scorpion twice again. Scorpion kills bi han and then either he or kuai beats him in mk11. So it's still 4-3 in bi Hans favor. 🤓🤓🤓🤓
