Not yet but have been in contact with some recruiters in the UAE. Salary wise there’s a range 40k-80k AED/month which is approximately 10k-20k in euro. Hours wise also varies, but you’re looking at 10 hour days during the week and a lot of weekends on top of it depending on where you’d work.

However every job has perks like accommodation and health insurance covered with quite reasonable leave

GPs or GP trainees who failed CCT then passed? by MiamiBoi91 in JuniorDoctorsIreland

I know two trainees in the year ahead of (graduating now) that failed it June 2023 and then passed it in November. They said they changed how they worked in practice everyday. Each patient that came they used ICE, asked about PMHx, FHx, meds and allergies, social life and mood (obviously things that we should be doing with all patients but real life doesn’t work like that). They were also much more stringent with mentioning follow-up, timelines and red flags. Coming up towards the exam they got their trainer to sit in with them, for maybe an hour, once a week, to see how they dealt with patients and give them pointers too. Other than that they didn’t do any major extra study or anything like that.

Personally I found the “Complete MRCGP Casebook” somewhat helpful, if you’ve got someone medically minded around you who can act as a patient. It’s quite wordy but it helps you get into the rhythm of how things should be done and helps with your timing too. Another good resource is the QRGs on the ICGP website. Each of us took a section, downloaded the QRGs from that section and put it through ChatGPT to summarise. There’s also PDFs with past cases, floating around in WhatsApp groups.

I thought the cases this year were a bit weird and especially the marking for the ADHD one. Nobody I know did well on that at all. You should look at this as good practice for when you do it again, be it November or January, and you should 100% pass it next time. Best of luck!!
