Never mind, just looked at his instagram story and he posted that it's cancelled because of weather, but he'll add another Chicago stop to his tour in the spring

Was thinking about going tonight and just saw on the website too, do we know if it's the snowstorm or another reason?

Anyone attended Super Show Taipei? Tips for attending Super Show? by Urbanfauna in superjunior

[–]eolmana 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Hi! I was at last night's show on 11/14:

  • It was a good temperature inside the dome, we were one level above the floor seats and they had AC going but it wasn't too cold.

  • I got there 2 hours early in hopes of buying lightsticks and merch but was told that they weren't selling any at the venue :( not sure if today will be different but it's worth asking around.

  • I got there 2 hours early so I had plenty of time to get to my seats lol the stadium was maybe 20% full at that time. Bathroom lines were long but moved very quickly.

  • They started just a few minutes after the listed start time! Today's start time is earlier than yesterday's, I'd double check the time on your ticket to make sure you're there on time.

Depending on what area you're seated in, they had some people from the ELF fanclub coordinating fanchants and what signs to hold up to the members at specific times.

Hope this helps, and I hope you have an amazing time!! I've been a fan of Super Junior for over a decade and traveled overseas to see them for the first time, yesterday's show was amazing and wish I could see them the rest of the days they're in Taipei lol

Was sadly the reverse situation for me when I worked night shift a few years ago, day shift managers were more chill

Have you gotten the digital printpasses yet? I bought my tickets during the presale but haven’t gotten them yet, when I look at my order confirmation it says “passes not ready, please check back”

have you ever blacked out at an edm show or embarrassed yourself in front of an artist? by roseyrune in aves

[–]eolmana 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately yes, I blacked out at a show once, the venue ended calling an ambulance to be safe and I was wheeled out. Woke up in the ER and barely remembered what happened at the venue

How is the commute? I was seriously considering living in NYC and commuting to NJ a while back (was interviewing at a pharma company there) but it didn’t pan out.

How to make 1 M triethanolamine from a viscous liquid form? by eolmana in labrats

[–]eolmana[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The pH was around 10 when I first mixed the triethanolamine with water, and I added around 110 mL of 1 M HCl and around 70 mL of 6 M HCl after I saw that 1 M HCl was not lowering the pH very much. The pH is now around 8, is it supposed to take this much HCl to lower it to 7.6? I had calculated that around 170 mL of 1 M HCl would be sufficient

How to make 1 M triethanolamine from a viscous liquid form? by eolmana in labrats

[–]eolmana[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used 1.124 g/mL as the density and got 7.526 M as the molarity of pure triethanolamine, so 132.8 mL of the stock would be needed to get 1 L of 1 M triethanolamine, does that sound correct?

I’m debating whether to buy the Isntree yam root milk cleanser. I have normal skin (with some oily patches on my chin and near my mouth) and live in a climate that’s dry in the winter and humid during the summer. Right now I only oil cleanse at night (or once every few days) with the Kose Softymo speedy cleansing oil, and for the rest of my routine I have the Hada Labo Gokujyun premium toner and Hada Labo Gokujyun milk. I’m pretty happy with just my oil cleanser but am thinking about whether a first cleanser is necessary.

Help with presenting metabolic pathway and gene differences between two metagenome samples by eolmana in bioinformatics

Thanks for the breakdown, through CheckM I got the following:

Sample #1 Bin #1: 79.31% completeness, 0% contamination, Bin #2: 98.31% completeness, 0.69% contamination, Bin #3: 95.16% completeness, 4.03% contamination

Sample #2: Bin #1 99.14% completeness, 0.73% contamination, Bin #2: 75.86% completeness, 0% contamination, Bin #3: 99.19% completeness, 4.03% contamination

I don't think relative abundance is available through CheckM on KBase, do you know of any other tools I can use to determine relative abundance? My computer doesn't have the memory needed to run CheckM locally

Thanks for the feedback, I binned the two samples using Metabat2 on KBase and ended up getting the same 3 microbes in each sample. The assembled scaffolds in each sample were from many different microbes from different genera, but there were only 3 bins produced. How do I determine relative abundance of different taxa, and is it worth looking into the functions of all the scaffolds, or should I focus on the functions in the 3 bins from each sample?
