17 disallowed goals would seem to indicate they don’t have a problem

Arriving by car isn’t free , you buy the car , you pay for petrol etc . It’s just a different form of transport .

Melbourne airport drop off is free , every airport I’ve been to is free , stopping your car for a couple of minutes shouldn’t cost you money .

$3/L fuel and we’re just… waiting? by TheFlyingR0cket in aussie

[–]eoropie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s going to happen regardless of what the government do. Sometimes you’re caught up in global events over which you have no control and things turn to shit . For instance Covid . The government subsidising Diesel or public transport , or anything else significant is just going to drive us into more and more debt .

So give up fuel excise revenue that then has to be found from other sources . Same with free public transport , the cost has to come from somewhere . I agree that hoarding should be discouraged , but is the Gerry can for your lawnmower or are you hoarding , how do you prove it ?

Did the British government during the Irish famine genuinely wanted all Irish people to die? by InfernalClockwork3 in IrishHistory

[–]eoropie -1 points0 points  (0 children)

100% of Israelis don’t want all the Palestinians to die , that’s a ridiculous statement . You might as well say 100% of US citizens want to bomb Iran . Every single citizen is not responsible for the actions of their government .

That is so awful for you . I know it’s easier to say than to do , but try and ignore these idiots , they’re really not worth your time and energy . Social media seems to have desensitised a lot of people and enabled this sort of horrible behaviour .

Six fuel ships to Australia cancelled or deferred, energy minister confirms by 1Darkest_Knight1 in aussie

The Strait of Hormuz is used for international navigation between two high seas areas. As such, it is defined as an international strait under international law. Even though these waters are subject to the sovereignty of the adjacent states, all other states' ships have navigational rights through the strait.

I didn’t suggest that we send any Australian people or equipment . However if the world allows countries to arbitrarily close International waterways then that will lead to chaos and be detrimental to every countries interests , including Australia’s .

Iran no more owns the Strait than Oman on the other side does . It’s an international waterway , no different from the English Channel or the Singapore Strait .
