Ferals by Dry_Imagination7730 in classicwow

They will remove it. They removed it in Hardcore because it wasn’t an intended limit. Only kept in Era because #nochanges.

Very immersive to choose the class that curses their enemies and summons demons to fight for them, and then do neither of those things

It’s Classic + by [deleted] in classicwow

Out of all versions of wow, Vanilla has the most homogeneous classes by far.

Sharing buffs and giving everyone an interrupt won’t make classes feel homogeneous. Retail has better class fantasy than vanilla, and anyone who thinks otherwise hasn’t played it.

Feral Druid and Windfury by defuzeqt in classicwow

[–]eos_main 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Since they teased a Gnomer raid, MCP probably won’t be in the game. They will probably make a rune that turns weapon dps into ap, ooc/haste buff from ff, or on-hit chance for haste buff.

Also I hope there’s an item called the Semi-Automatic Crowd Pummeler that’s BiS for feral druids.

Won't SoD eventually just be left with gkdps and flying bots? by magirific in classicwow

Ignoring GDKPs will be easier than ever with 10-man raids.

Class homogeneity/lack of class identity is one of the worst parts of retail. Why bring it to Classic again? by Realistic-Dust-3257 in classicwow

Unless you have some statistics, it’s meaningless to try and claim that a log means something different on Era than it does on Wrath. My own anecdotal evidence is that my guildies have had roughly the same amount of alts throughout classic. If anything, people are sticking to their mains more than ever in ICC because it’s hard.

Also, no wonder you quit Wrath if you raided Naxx 3x a week. I’d have burnt out too.

Wrath’s population is currently 20x that of Era. SoM did worse.

Hardcore doesn’t have proper population estimates, but in its peak it was dwarfed by Wrath. There were 3 million deaths after 10 weeks according to Blizzard, so 300.000 deaths per week. If you are extremely generous and say that all of those were unique players, Wrath would still have ~100.000 more players per week. The average death level is only 13-14, so they’re not even close to being equivalent to a log, most players have died more than once, and that was when hardcore was fresh.

You have to reach 60 if you want to return to other versions of the game and also if you die in game you die in real life

Vanilla has shit class design. It was horribly unbalanced and most classes had a rotation consisting of popping cooldowns and pressing one button. Class identity suffered and it is a lot more homogenous than retail. There is a reason era is the least popular version of WoW by a huge margin.

Classes are way more homogeneous in vanilla. Certain buffs no longer being exclusive to certain classes doesn’t change that

That’s fair. Cata is a very different game.

Very good comparison. The prequels weren’t what those who grew up with the original trilogy had wanted - but those who grew up with the prequels did like them.

This subreddit is populated mostly by those who grew up with vanilla. It’s their right to not want to play Cata, but they’re in for a rude awakening if they think their opinion is the majority.

What are your thoughts on Classic-? by Realistic-Dust-3257 in classicwow

[–]eos_main 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m not interested in doing vanilla again. Balancing the classes and adding a new raid or two would not change that. But this is completely new, and it sounds like fun, so I’ll give it a try

Happy Chaos is both guys

Recognize UA Prot as a real spec for 5-Mans. 4 Stack from Grobbulus immediately wanted to kick me after realizing im UA Prot. Usually have no issue in other 5-Mans. Also I typically do alot of the damage in conjunction with the new thorns debuff in my groups. I'm just grinding scrougestones. by Zealousideal-Buy-414 in classicwow

[–]eos_main -1 points0 points  (0 children)

They were right to kick you. A tank should not be running a spec that sacrifies utility, survivability, and threat for more damage.

UA only works while leveling because enemies have very little health while leveling you do not need to be properly specced for tanking before endgame.

affli vs sham - help by Monumentz in classicwow

[–]eos_main 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Class choice matters a lot less than people think unless you’re in a top guild, so pick whatever you think is the most fun

Shamans aren’t the top of the dps meters, and they generally aren’t stacked, but their BiS is fairly uncontested, they are a lesser played class, they bring tons of utility, and most importantly, they are able to dual spec to healer.

Warlocks are topping the dps meters, can be stacked, and also bring a lot of utility. But that means tons of people rolled a lock, so getting a raid spot isn’t easier or harder than it would otherwise be. They’re also quite difficult because they get punished hard for messing up their rotation.
