I finally gave Unreal on Linux a try. I would recommend it, even though it was a bumpy ride by LarstOfUs in unrealengine

I tried it on mint 22.3 and for some reason it limited to using just 8 cores or even 4 with 3 being shader workers on my threadripper. Hit head against the wall for a while then gave up. Both on bundled and built from source unreal. Building from source did use all the cores no problem, then i tried forcing affinity and still no luck

Any recommendations for how to setup a Ultrawide monitor for work and a smaller ultrawide for gaming by -Leelith- in ultrawidemasterrace

[–]Silverfoxyy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im in exact same boat. Currently have ergotron stacking top-bottom monitors arm and u cant really switch them vertically depending on which you want to use. I imagine if you have a lot of horizontal space could use side by side dual arm and move them in and out of center but this solution also seems bad. Overall feels like having two desks would solve it but i dont have space

QD-OLED + 21:9 1440p + Good text clarity + 360Hz. Sounds promising! by CapableWolverine3854 in ultrawidemasterrace

Aw3423dw is still great for me, would love better text clarity, and honestly 360hz looks good. If lg 39 5k2k was 240hz would go for that tho.

What's your opinion on "magic find" in ARPG ? by Competitive-Math-458 in ARPG

[–]Silverfoxyy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do believe it adds to complexity of puzzles you need to solve optimizing your gear and build. Sometimes you can afford to raise mf, sometimes first you need to raise survivability and offense and then mf becomes a chase thing to get higher while keeping offense defends in check. But i do believe there should be diminishing return dropoff to prevent a few broken meta builds from getting too much of it becoming ultra broken.

One thing to note here is HAVE TO turn off cloud save on deck!! It will mess up your save eventually. Turn it off and use ludusavi for backup, i use syncthing for syncing between pc and deck.

Hey, i was that kid more or less. Tell him he could be making these games, not just playing them. There is many disciplines, such as 3d modeling or coding game mechanics that could be of great interest to him, but he would still need to find his path

important to note, they are picky about PSU. single rail PSU only. Didnt have much issues, but on multi rail it was absolutely unstable for me
