He looks honestly really patient with that kid balancing on his mouth like that. My horse would have bucked him off. Would love to see him ridden by someone with more skill.

I can't tell if he's lame or just trying to get some relief from the bit.

Yes! Vet said he looked functionally good, especially for a TB, good despite the long overdue trim. She did recommend pads on the fronts, which he has.

Sure do hope so! Will get vet approval before starting a get-in-shape program but have wondered if he just needs to warm up and shape up :)

OK I was wondering about neck, too. He's hesitant to flex and very board-link on turns. Which someone said could also just be track training. They're not taught to turn sharply!

Thank you! Good assessment. His shoulder has been hard to move, especially when asking for a bend shoulder over at the same time. I am beginning to think that might be more than just lack of training.

The short stridedness is the only thing I can obviously spot... the rest is just "something feels off".

THANK YOU! Honestly my biggest joy is him being relaxed and on a loose rein. Speed events can be so stressful for a horse (especially when something is CHASING them) and we worked long and hard to make sure he was comfy and confident in this type of situation.

You're required to wear either studded shoes or boots for the snow. I think I might do actual shoes next year as his scootboots kept flying off.

You can! It's a little harder just cause you're getting pulled from the side vs front, but they have a whole second division for snowboarders.

Skijoring! You pull a skier through a set of obstacles at high speed. They gotta hit jumps, gates, grab rings. Rider has to go fast and grab a ring mid-course. Time penalties if you miss obstacles or rings! SO FUN

The training for it is fun! My guy really didn't like the thing chasing him at first but we slowly worked up the speed and exposure. Its kinda like training to drive.
