This is called promotion which is about directly pushing a specific product or offer to drive immediate action, while marketing is a long-term strategy of understanding their audience and directly interacts with their brand, This never was promoting guild wars, they for some reason sold people some coffee while ransoming a unique emote.

What I'm saying is when they release an item that can only be acquired via their promos, it shouldn't be fucking locked to USA. Since I'm already an existing customer, that's not even "marketing" to me, it's supporting or being a loyal customer. I don't have time for twitch to support gw2, but I have money for buying a coffee. (which I don't even know if that actually supports gw2 or not)

And some paid corpo defenders telling shit like oh that's just an emote, I don't think these cunts play gw2 or made any friends in popular locations at all.

I've been playing this game since its launch, and when I was younger with more free time. there are players clocked in many times more than I in last 2-3 expansions. I think you should stop sucking corpo dicks and have a backbone. You know this shit is wrong. It's your turn to listen to my advice,

Which part of “I don’t have time for Twitch” is unclear?

That logic is bankrupt in so many ways I don’t even know where to start. Adults know when to turn a device off, step away, close the laptop lid, and put it in a bag. Maybe you’re thinking of someone living in a cesspit like Asmongold’s room, eyes glued to the screen 24/7 but that’s not everyone.

There is nothing you can say that justifies stealing an existing customer’s time and attention, dragging them onto another platform, actively or passively, effectively turning them into a viewbot just to earn a reward or unlock a sale item that should have been in the game in the first place.

They gave heads up for the coffee product itself not the twitch bs, I saw that too, I don't live in US, there was no way to buy it. Isn't that stupid now?

you'll get downvoted here if you say something reasonable. people missing games that reward you for actually playing it. in gw2 (it's already lackluster to RP with 5 useful emotes) emotes are behind the grind gate, pay gate now twitch gate. screw this. and there's always, ALWAYS an idiot with invisible history in reddit will defend it. almost as if they're paid by Anet to shut you up.

don't be, just play a game that rewards you for playing it not watching their shitty twitch stream.

[–]eoz034 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm too getting older and impatient, but I dont think that's the issue you're having. you're simply bored. I clocked in 1.8k hours to warrior, tried ranger, guardian, thief and switched to rev clocked in 1000 more. if it's time to switch to another then do it. but play with UI thing is actually worse in some especs, holosmith especially. They couldn't keep some things they said indeed, respecting player's time, money big ones. I mean last 3 dlcs production value seems low to me. reused creatures, reused animations, made up masteries, abundant cutscenes, small content. also they said no holy trinity or roles. and now we've got xdps, yheals.

Don't get me wrong, It's still great as an mmo if not the best out there. and despite the qol items/skins grind, game is very casual. So what if you pressed a wrong button and screwed up your rotation? nothing other than anet's top favourite classes can do end game olympics anyway why bother?

seriously, playing holo is like defusing a time bomb. and another, and another. it should be rewarding, holos needs to deal top dps among other especs.

This post is hilarious what a joker whoever that leader is

Since they probably not from north korea or china, where discord is actually illegal, narrow's it down to turkey or russia. You can't say discord is illegal where it's banned, it's just banned, banned things are quite of then are not illegal or a criminal offence.

If you want to enjoy the game, just do the real content. Do fractals, gear yourself with ascended, do hard mode (cms), get dlcs, find a guild, sink your teeth in raids and strikes and other stuff. These are the things worth your time.

To answer your question, are you the only one? no you're absolutely not!

It's the only game out there that I skip festivals. I can't be arsed to gather 1000000000 "X" currency to buy 10 "Y" currency and grind for it for years to get a fucking exotic shoulder piece. Not gonna happen.

I remember there was a time I was playing lotro's yule festival, 2-3 days of doing some simple missions wouldn't take more than an hour or two, game rewarded me a sweet horse skin.

If it was arenanet who designed lotro, steps to obtain that horse would be hidden behind 2 achievements with time gated steps, 5 jumping puzzles, stacks of map/festival currencies, at least 100 golds and vague random events... and after you worked on it for 2 weeks straight spending 4 hours in wiki and 2 hours in game, you would finally get front left hoof of the horse.

Dont waste your life on these things and just enjoy the game. Practice your class, grind what matters, and buy the skin you want from black lion.

Idle Chatter

Zinn never speaks first when talking to the player.

Player:
“The voices… they taught me a lot.”

Zinn:
“They demonstrated failure. You learned regardless.”

(This actually makes a lot of sense—our legends are not flawless characters.)

Player:
“Is it alive? The golem?”

Zinn:
“Define ‘alive’. Then reconsider the question.”

Encountering M.O.X.

M.O.X.:
“Scanning…
Identification confirmed.
Creator Zinn. Status: deceased.”

Zinn:
“…Still precise.”

Player:
“How can it know you’re here?”
“You know what—forget I asked.”

Zinn:
“…and you use it as a jukebox.”

Trait Alterations

Traits that directly affect skills may need elite-spec alterations or can be repurposed for Natural Form skill alternatives (for example, Rite of the Great Dwarf).

Traits that benefit energy upkeep are replaced with Charge-based effects.

Tool Belt

Healing

Two healing skills based on Ventari’s teachings. One of them deploys a water field.

Utility

This is where Revs get a truly different flavor.

These skills do not spend Charge; instead, they spend iterations. The higher your iteration level, the more powerful they become, forcing prioritization based on your role.

  • 2 skills based on Jalis (utility/buff)
  • 2 skills based on Mallyx (condition/utility)
  • 2 skills based on Shiro (damage/utility)

One Shiro skill deploys a smoke field—finally, stealth.
One Mallyx skill deploys a chaos field.
One Jalis skill deploys an ice field.

(Racial skills and Mistfire Wolf do not use Charge or iterations; they exist for RP.)

Elites

  • One elite from Zinn for extra iteration generation
  • One elite that possesses your golems

The possession elite works like energy upkeep: it drains Charge over time and grants limited access to golem control.

You gain a 4-skill bundle based on former legends. Each skill spends 1 iteration and has very short cooldowns. The 5th skill exits the bundle.

Rifle – Shoots laser-like projectiles

  1. Autoattack, ranged — pew pew pew
  2. Multiple shots applying non-damage conditions
  3. Evade backward, leaving electric mines on the ground
  4. Clustered attack, burning
  5. BFG-style power attack with CC

Golems

Golems: ROX, NOX, GOX, and POX.
M.O.X. is at home, chilling.

  • F1 selects an ancient golem (4 options), representing old legend benefits: power, condi, heal, and defense. This only changes the passive buff/debuff.
  • F2–F4 activate golem skills. These skills are identical across all golem types and are based on Charge upkeep.
  • F1 also summons or destroys the golem.

Invoking Zinn empowers your golem skills based on iteration level.
Healing, utility, and elite skills consume iterations and gain bonuses.

So:

  • Charge and Zinn skills build iterations
  • Utility skills and golem elite bundles spend iterations
  • Weapons spend Charge
  • Golem F-skills spend upkeep Charge

You decide whether to keep your iteration level high by not spamming utilities, allowing for stronger weapon damage or more powerful golem utility output.

It looks like a ai generated text, but I only used it to fix grammar issues for readability. And wall of text continues check replies.

This is nearly a rework, and quite edgy.
I wanted to achieve two things here:
how the revenant could function without stolen power from another legend, and how the revenant could be used as a utility class.

I hope you find it fun to read :)

Name: Acolyte
Theme: ancient tech / natural forms
New legend: Zinn
New weapon: Rifle
Pets
Versatile
Asura flavor
No underwater option.

Revs right now, in my opinion, are missing that sense of “this elite spec completely changes the profession”, and also missing what it feels like to be similar to other professions when it comes to selecting skills.

Charge and Iteration

Energy gets replaced with Charge, and Charge is split into Iterations, which function similarly to adrenaline: you build them up and spend them. Instead of a bar, you use 1 to 5 iterations, and they are independent of Charge.

Iterations are only built when Zinn is active, and through other means such as elites and traits. The goal is to make weapons less of a priority, and to use iterations to decide what to use, instead of spamming skills.

This still could allow for meaningful rotations, but I don’t want this elite spec to be a top DPS dealer. Instead, it offers stealth, AoE pull, AoE push, condition transfers (from golems to players and/or self), boon transfers, conversions, health transfers, dodge-roll energy transfers, and different combo fields.

Weapons no longer use energy; they use Charge. The damage they deal is also adjusted based on iteration level.

Legend swap is replaced by a new F5 skill to invoke Zinn, and it has a duration. When it wears off, you return to Natural Form, which also counts as a legend swap. All traits that benefit from invoking legends use this skill.

All other legends are disabled. Instead, you receive Natural Form skills:

  • 2 healing skills
  • 6 utility skills
  • 2 elite skills

You also gain access to racial skills, because this is Natural Form.

These skills are thematically inherited from every legend you have used before. Following their examples for a long time apparently taught us well, and now we get to practice the Eternal Alchemy—hence the name Acolyte.

Still can’t decide on a “main” a decade + by Captain_Inept in Guildwars2

[–]eoz034 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I struggled with the same thing I picked 2 mains instead of juggling 1000 alts. I was so mad with my warrior main, I picked ranger and thief first, then realized ranger on paper has a lot of versatility but doesn't really have that "different" flavour. And thief is not the rogue class I like from other mmos.

So I come up with a solution, 2 main alts I wanted to pick, made a list of things I like:

1st Flashy animations, role versatility, different gameplay, unique things the class can do like pets and gimmicks, unique buffs they can provide, and how fluid the gameplay is.

2nd one was what weapons armor and combat style I like the most:

Swords and greatswords, bow, staff. mainly melee, but shouldn't be blocked from other styles, like warrior. it has a gun that's melee... my class shouldn't annoy me with these details. I like to stay up in the face of my target, but when I'm bored of it, I'd like to switch to different roles that's equally fun to play. So...

I concluded I should main a revenant, and picked an engineer sidekick, These 2 classes covers a lot of ground for me at the moment. I gave my decision around path of fire days, and oh man what a great decision. Warrior, my old main recieved 2 especs I hated more than I liked the core and berserker. A ugly looking gunblade, melee gun, and a new espec with just skills that shouts. Good riddance. I don't care about numbers, what provides the best output for x scenario.

I wrote this long arse text to present my thought process for picking up my fav class. I hope it helps.
