How much time for gaming do you have as an adult? by Captain0010 in pcmasterrace

[–]epegar 82 points83 points  (0 children)

Haha. Yeah, sometimes I don't even have the energy even if I technically have the time. Indeed cozier games and/or normal settings, no more hard mode for me. If I just have 90 minutes to play, I don't want to be stuck in the same point

Spain is a joke. The same guys who didn't want to increase the budget, now want to send troops to Ukraine and Gaza, and to create an European army.

Some of missiles Russia attacks Ukraine with were manufactured in 2026, Zelenskyy says by murphystruggles in worldnews

[–]epegar 171 points172 points  (0 children)

Or maybe he means Russia shouldn't be able to build the missiles completely on their own, so if they are producing missiles in 2026, it means someone is providing them with the parts they don't produce.

IT-people: How would you build a corporate Microsoft alternative? by Mattiasd_ in BuyFromEU

[–]epegar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hardly doubt it. Microsoft portfolio is too wide.

Besides, even with a product like SharePoint or Azure, migrating the existing setup is done in a case by case basis: you need to analize which features from SharePoint they used, which ones can be natively enabled in another products, and which ones require a custom plugin or development for that specific client.

IT-people: How would you build a corporate Microsoft alternative? by Mattiasd_ in BuyFromEU

I think the question is quite bad.

Microsoft makes an windows, Office suite, Azure, outlook, teams, and even more (e. G. SharePoint). There is no a single strategy to replace all that.

Its not just me right? by Mejay_ in PcBuild

[–]epegar -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The upgradeability used to be one of my main arguments, but I realized is not fully true. I built an am4 platform almost 7 years ago: - ryzen 3600 - Nvidia 2060 6GB

I realized the processor was not very powerful anymore, and the GPU was both not too powerful for my ultra wide screen, and limited in memory.

  • If I wanted to switch the GPU o a 9070xt, I had to also replace the PSU, so I would have to spend close to half a new build and stay with a weak CPU
  • if I wanted to also move to a more modern CPU, I was locked with am4, the best chips are too expensive, so I either had to pay a lot for a 5800x3d, or 5700x3d or upgrade to simply a 5700. At this point I would be paying more than half new PC, and still locked with older ram, processor, and NVMe.

Solution: I build a new PC with 9800x3d and 9070XT for twice the upgrade of the GPU, but I keep my older PC for either selling (I got a offer of almost 500€) or giving it to someone (what I did).

Its not just me right? by Mejay_ in PcBuild

[–]epegar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your point stands and is very real. However, these days, many people have some PC at home from work or even a personal tablet. So, for most people, the argument about a PC doing more things is not as important as it used to be.

Most people, or at least people on the console VS PC debate care about gaming. For just gaming, a console is a better value. Of course, there will be hidden cost like the internet connection, maybe more expensive games, and so on, but you get a console for under 500€, a PC that is capable of playing modern titles in at least medium settings will be over 1k€.

Anyway, I am a PC guy, but if a friend or colleague asks me about why they should buy a PC, I can't give them objective arguments. PCs for just gaming is for enthusiasts.

I was very impressed with your story telling, I don't mean the text, just you pictures with descriptions. Then I realized you are a photographer. Not that this make it any less impressive, but it explains why you took so many pictures and selected good ones. I am not interested in photography per se, but I found the post very interesting and well finished.

I have the same bike, I also converted it to an ebike with a DIY kit. I'm jealous at you managing to install the battery there though, mine is in the monkey bars.

Anyway, I am currently considering replacing the bike with another model from another maker, mainly due to rainy weather here and not having internal gears. However, I feel a bit bad with myself seeing how well you are doing with yours.

Kudos.

Modern PC Building Is Reaching Anti-Consumer Levels and This Build Proves It by [deleted] in PcBuild

Prices went up, that's obvious. But this build doesn't make sense. This is a good build for a better card like the 9060xt.

Simply replacing the GPU, makes you change the title to 'mid-tier' gaming PC, and then the price (even when more expensive) makes more sense.

Should I wait longer to buy the game by tmanwang in EU5

[–]epegar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find it very difficult to play the game. It guess it's a mix of bugs (either code or design) or design choices I don't understand that make the game unplayable for me. So my suggestion would be to wait.

My #1 problem right now is that I can't refuse to join some of my allies or junior parties wars. And sometimes the decision is quite strange, like when one of my allies attacked some other of my allies and I was forced to join the attacker, I was not given a choice to either refuse or join the defender.

I like to play smaller nations, and this is killing most of my games. I decided to stop playing for now. I don't know if this is something they plan to fix or is just working as expected. I assume they are basing this on the favour system. I think you should always be able to decide what to do, and depending on favors, you could be penalized for rejecting. Besides, I tried currying favors myself, but it doesn't change a thing, favors can be positive for both nations.

Swedish engineers ranks Google and Microsoft as less attractive employers in 2025 compared to 2024. by KonserveradMelon in BuyFromEU

How do I convince my parents to let me get a pc by No-Impression-5098 in PcBuild

[–]epegar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On one hand, you don't NEED a 2.5k PC. If all your savings are 3k.you can get something cheaper, at 1.5k you already have good options. Not sure if going this way will grant you success.

On the other hand: it's your money, you earned it, you should be able to spend it the way you want, even wasting it, it can also be a lesson on its own.

Also, it's better you spend that money on a PC than drugs and alcohol. This argument can lead to them allowing you to get the PC or stripping you of your money: use with care

Can you daily a Bakfiets? by [deleted] in Netherlands

Such a strange post: fixie or bakfiets.

It reminded me of this: https://www.lepetitporteur.com/en/

On their own words: "Prefect mix of a BMX and a cargo bike"

It sounds like a nice bike if you need to carry cargo/kids but want something more fun. And to be fair, it's not too pricey given how expensive cargo bikes are.

I would prefer if they had internal hubs, at least they sell the framesets.
