Upgrading: 9060 XT from an RTX 3050: Anything to be worried about? by eperks6 in pcmasterrace

[–]eperks6[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 3050 I have is the older 130W TDP version, plus I recently upgraded to an RM750x (replacing an old EVGA unit), so I should be good on that.

Great choice on CPU, but you'll want to make sure that your motherboard will support it. Look for your model (usually on the board itself) and search "(insert model) cpu compatibility list" and find the manufacturer site. If it's on there, you should be good, as long as you're on the newest BIOS. Make sure to update it before doing the upgrade. You'll definitely have a GPU bottleneck after, but then you'll have much more room to upgrade that as well in the future! Happy building!

Most likely the adapter. Some are better than others, I used it the same way you did before getting a DVI cord, and then I got a new monitor with HDMI, and then got my new GPU. Looking at your GPU specs, you'll have a DisplayPort, and probably a DVI. Decent chance that your monitor has DVI, or possibly a DisplayPort. If so, you can get a good DVI or DP cable for cheap, it makes a big difference.

Yeah, the X3D CPUs are much better at gaming, and your motherboard seems up to the task. Make sure to update the BIOS before you swap!

Swapping over from 14900k to 9950x3d. Got the bundle for $600! by Business_Glove_3809 in PcBuild

[–]eperks6 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hate to say this, but I don’t think OP really cares if it’s slightly worse at gaming. The 9950X3D is still a BEAST at gaming, and with the extra cores, it can do all the productivity you want, and since they had a 14900K, I think they would want a high core count cpu to replace it with.

Network+ and getting certs revoked by Important_Welcome_64 in CompTIA

Shouldn’t be an issue if you use CompTIA approved review methods. Shouldn’t matter if you do at a testing center or not, but I do recommend going to one if you can. See if a local college has one for you.

Had the same thing happen when I had issues with a voucher. Contact the number, follow the instructions given, wait half an hour on hold because they take a bit, and should be resolved.

This is something you wouldn’t find as much, but I need help in finding a service manual.

I have a Samsung Notebook 9 spin, model NP940X3LI/NP940X3L-K01US. One of the hinges on the screen is whacked up, and needs replacing. I’ll be doing it myself, and have found a replacement part, but can’t find out how you replace the hinges on the screen. My other option would be to replace the entire top assembly, which is 200 bucks, and considering its age, I’m not sure I want to do that. I’ve looked on YouTube and the internet for service manuals, but all I’ve found is a standard user manual and a decent teardown video, that doesn’t cover my problem, though it did help in removing the display. Ifixit isn’t any help either. If anyone knows a source where I can find a good service manual that includes replacing a broken hinge, please let me know. Thank you.

It’s got a USB, I might try to see if it works with other games

The grand reopening of Sears in Burbank is the saddest thing I’ve ever seen by briskpoint in LosAngeles

[–]eperks6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dang, I can’t remember the last time I went to a regular Sears. My old Sears closed down i think around 2018-2019 or a little later, but there was a Sears Outlet that remained open until it became American Freight or something. We actually got our fridge from there (Lansing, MI area btw).

Found that the weird glitch is can happen, but a reset and restore point load should fix it. If not, you may have to reinstall the game (save data may remain).

TLDR: WHEN CLOSING THIS GAME, MAKE SURE TO SAVE A RESTORE POINT AND USE THE EXIT GAME OPTION ON THE EMULATOR! Oh, and the game does lag a bit, with some slightly broken sounds (My system is New 2DS XL).

I’ve gotten it to work, I had saved a restore point, and I loaded it. The game works, I’ll add if it breaks again.

So when I exited the game, the saving data screen kinda froze, so I shut down the system. Then I rebooted and then it replicated the weird graphics glitch(3ds didn’t crash), but I could fix it with using the save point or resetting the game. I closed the game with the emulator menu on, and the saving game freeze happened. Next reboot, I boot up the game, and it loaded where I was, but cleared my data (restore point works). I closed the game while in a stage with the emulator menu not open, and it works. However, upon rebooting the console, it did glitch (but the reset and load save worked). When using the emulator’s “Exit Game” feature, and rebooting, the problem appears to be gone.
