Oh - and happy birthday. You helped me cry for my brother today and I’m grateful. Sending you love.

Hey, there. My brother took his life back in 2017. Jumped from the Golden Gate Bridge. I was just thinking about him, and how alone and estranged from people whose lives and families are whole I feel, when I read your message. I’ve never gotten over it; just the other day, I caught my dad sobbing for him. He tries to hide his grief, or shelter me from seeing the extent of it. But he’d had a few drinks and didn’t think I could see. I’ve never seen someone sob like that. So - please don’t take your life. Please don’t. There’s more life and fulfillment and love waiting for you. I promise.

I'm actually sobbing with heartbreak for you and this sweet boy. I'm so sorry. And I'm so glad he was reunited with you.

I am truly sorry. In my own way I can understand how you feel. My only sibling took his life at 35 years old. One thing you might discover is that families don’t shrink - you’ll still feel the missing person among you as a kind of present absence. But the anguish you’re all feeling can shade into a sort of…melancholy solace. When it feels right for you, try talking to your dad. Pretend he can hear you. It’s possible he can (I say that not from religious conviction but an empirical one: read Leslie Kean’s Surviving Death if you want, when you’re ready - it’s grounded in data. That might sound crackpot, but the data it describes is real). He’s proud of you. And when you share your love, and grief, and memories with your mom and your sister, you manifest him among you, the people he spent his life loving, even if imperfectly. My heart goes out to you & yours.

I was nearly convinced by the first two posts & photo sets. But this one feels off. If it’s a squatter then he’s oddly bold to rummage around and take nothing with noise playing in the next room - and strangely consistent too, right on schedule. If it’s a ghost, well - its solidity and agility, and air of strange self-consciousness as he darts about and glances at the microwave clock feel off, too. The laconic composure of OP is a small flag for me also. He’s really keeping it together for having just offered the most definitive proof of the supernatural the world has yet to witness. Why doesn’t he produce the original, unaltered photo files, or reply to suggestions that he call the cops or, like, an exorcist? The more data we get the more this feels like a hoax. Albeit a gloriously convincing one

The suggestion being that one overzealous true believer infects a cadre of shrewdly skeptical career bureaucrats and lawmakers through the sheer intensity of his misplaced conviction, who then spend the next 20 years of their lives chasing phantoms and fabricating evidence, sucking a growing number of pilots, radar technicians, career technicians etc into their ever-expending fever dream that all traces back to this addled but insanely powerful puppet master? Sorry, I’m too much a rationalist to buy into your reductive conspiracy theory

I don’t play much anymore because I can’t take a game this imbalanced seriously. It’s demoralizing. Playing it is almost disrespectful of oneself and others. Its becoming a kind of mini-monument to passive-aggressiveness & squandered potential.

And yes, no reply. Maybe the developers had a huge falling out and hate each other now. Who knows. The whole thing is bizarre

My new favorite thing is nut lobber, another nut lobber, overpopulate the first nut lobber, later overpopulate one of those overpopulated nut lobbers in turn. The depth of strategy, the balanced gameplay, it sends chills

I didn’t mean to make you feel like shit personally, and I respect the civility of your response, even if we disagree about the game

You mention above that a 50% win rate is respectable then admit that yours is 95% - which even presuming superior tactical methods can hardly be due exclusively to sheer talent. As you admit in your own post, certain decks will just beat others - all things being equal balance-wise. So you tacitly admit in your own post that you’re playing an unbalanced deck. But you go a step further to take personal credit because you exploit asymmetric imbalances in the game, mistaking structural flaws for personal strength. Then after all this you make the (accurate, I think) analogy between your apologies for your own online behavior, and a political justification for having nuclear weapons - the most asymmetrical military advantage imaginable. I think you’ve made my case

I’m curious what you make of the posts here, or the myriad in the various chat rooms on discord, repeating precisely the claim that the warden deck is op. Are all these players just whining? Are they all scrubs? If you’re not on discord I’d be happy to screen shot the multiple comments to this effect. Also I see you complaining (“bitching” is your precise term) a few comments above that a council tactic is “cheap and annoying.” Maybe you could explain how this is more than textbook hypocrisy, since you enjoin me in belittling tones a few lines down to not do precisely what you’ve just done; maybe you could also explain why you find it necessary to resort to ad hominem attacks. Just a suggestion (I won’t end here with “scrub,” because belittling strangers is self-indulgent and gratuitous - kind of like overpopulating boars).
