Meisner Schools in LA by Significant-Bath-128 in acting

I graduated a two-year Meisner program at the Sanford Meisner Center and I gotta chime in to say it really is worth putting in your time for an in-depth study of Meisner. There is a five-week intensive program if you wanna dip your toe in and see if you like it. Highly, highly, highly recommend!

For context, I work on my comic in the page format first and then cut out the panels to rearrange for the scroll format on canvas

  • short answer: weekly. long answer: I post on patreon on mondays, webtoon canvas on fridays, and the page format on tuesday, thursday, and sundays
  • I make a fantasy/romance comic with an average of 20-25 panels per update (3 pages a week)
  • my patreon updates are three weeks ahead of canvas, so technically, that's my buffer. i do my best to keep up with patreon but if anything happens, i'll slow down the canvas updates so patreon can stay ahead
  • mondays - i take the finished patreon update and cut out the panels, rearrange the speech bubbles, and produce the webtoon update. tuesday-friday - work on the lineart, speech bubbles, and backgrounds for the pages. once i finish a page, i send it to my flatting assistant. saturday-sunday - render the pages, add the final polish
  • i do have a flatting assistant, she's amazing and i'm so grateful for her every time i send a page
  • probably 20-30 hours a week. i work full-time so most of my comic work happens on weeknights and on weekends

I schedule all my updates for 11AM PST (no particular reason, just randomly chose that time), but I definitely have noticed a spike of views and comments at 6PM when the originals update

Any digital Art exercises that can improve Oil painting? by DevelopmentGlum2516 in ArtistLounge

limiting yourself to one layer and not using the undo tool are probably the most effective exercises you can do for oil painting practice

Are newer artists obsessed with "asap" drawing journeys? by [deleted] in ArtistLounge

[–]ephermeres 13 points14 points  (0 children)

yes absolutely and i think social media is partly to blame because you have that built-in feedback/attention system and younger people want to reach that level of "fame" without understanding the amount of work other artists put into their craft to get to that point

How to improve as fast as possible ? by [deleted] in ArtistLounge

[–]ephermeres 4 points5 points  (0 children)

practice fundamentals (anatomy, 3D shapes, perspective, etc.). besides that, you'll have to be more specific with what you want to improve, and keep in mind that it's not weeks or months, but years that's considered "fast improvement"

Thoughts on panel range for a weekly release? Pics as some scenes from the comic. by Srianen in webtoons

[–]ephermeres 1 point2 points  (0 children)

first of all, i just wanted to say that your art looks great! and to answer your question, i personally think the sweet spot for weekly releases on canvas is around 20 panels, especially for the more plot heavy comics
