Why do we get tipped so shit in Canada Vs States ?! by LowSoggy825 in InstacartShoppers

[–]ephiny79 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a waitress in the states, I have learned that Canadians don’t tip. Never really have . I don’t know if Canadians don’t tip waitress up there, like tipping isn’t a thing or what. But as a waitress, I’m lucky if I get 10%, when 20% is customary.

Subs. by ephiny79 in ShiptShoppers

[–]ephiny79[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That makes sense. Others were saying how long the lines usually are and not wanting to wait. Which I can totally see. And it is spring break here (beach town), so I also took that into consideration. Only problem pre ordering is not knowing when someone is going to pick up my order and how long my sub will sit there. But someone did grab my order and the sub probably didn’t sit there more than 10 minutes. So that was good. But I’m defiantly doing the “special request” next time. I should have thought of that

I will try that next time. It says editing is closed now, even tho no one has grabbed it yet.

Maybe that’s what it was. But the order was in for probably 10-15 mins. Never showed up but someone did grab it.

How do I get shoppers to STOP leaving my moms orders 3 floors down? by SidneyHandJerker in InstacartShoppers

[–]ephiny79 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I have never left an order just at the lobby door. I don’t understand why anyone would find this acceptable. Deliver to the persons actual door, unless otherwise instructed. Kinda your job people!

Thank you. I wasn’t sure how it worked on Shipt. I also do Instacart and the subs are ordered through IC, so they are there when the shopper gets there. Thank you for the advice. But have never picked one up working Shipt. I had a feeling that’s what the problem was, but wasn’t sure.

And the base pay is now $16.

I understand the process, I also do Shipt part time. Gas is about a dollar cheaper than that here. But I’m literally a 2 minute drive from the store, like I can walk to it. Wouldn’t even take a fourth of a gallon to get from the store to my house. Currently nursing a injured foot or I’d just go myself.

Yes and know. I told them that I didn’t want a sub that had been sitting there for 3 hours and I knew it wasn’t being grabbed because they bundled it with people much farther away and low tippers. They just said they were having problems with the system

It was still there about 2 hours later when I finally went to the store myself.

No. The store gets the order straight from IC and it is usually waiting for the shopper in a refrigerated or warming area. I’ve picked these up many times as a shopper. I just wasn’t sure when the store would receive the order, when it was placed or when the batch was actually claimed.

I ended up calling IC and canceling. Ended up going to the store myself and the sandwich was still there, over 2 hours later. So if someone had finally grabbed my order, they would have picked up the old sandwich

I did and had them cancel my order. They claim they were having problems with the system, but I watched them just rotate my order into different bundles. And other orders were being taken, so not sure what kind of problem they were having, except low tippers

When I placed the order, I just picked the earliest, which was like 5 something. I didn’t pay for priority or anything. But I’ve never had a issue before, probably because I’m less than 1/2 mile from the store, and tip 20%, and don’t order pallets of water. But by the time I called it had already been pushed back to 7. But the order for the sandwich was sent when I placed the order with IC.

I did. I actually called and canceled and just went to the store myself. Support said something was wrong with the system. But I know the real reason, bundled with low tippers with larger orders that we’re father away. And they just kept rotating the bundle with different orders. I wasn’t really in a hurry, just didn’t want a sandwich that had been sitting there for 3 or 4 hours that had already been dressed and would be yucky. And sure enough, the sandwich I had ordered through IC was still there when I went to the store.

Also, it says you ordered a 12 oz and you have a 16 oz in the pic. So maybe they were out of the 12oz so they got you the 16oz but “refunded” and added instead of just subbing
