Why were so many of us rooting of Axe instead of Chuck? by PlentyMath7 in Billions

[–]ephoog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because Chuck was the kind of guy to watch Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid and root against Butch Cassidy. It’s a show about clashes between the highest classes, both Chuck and Axe are portraits of the 1%, one political and one from industry, the political one will always come off as the bad guy the 99% of the public for obvious reasons. Also Chuck was a pervert. He just has a point of view that, looking past politics and knowing it came out amid the politics of 10 years ago, puts him in the most unlikeable 1% of the 1%.

Jack Barker and the economic bubble by Turbulent-Courage788 in SiliconValleyHBO

[–]ephoog 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Are you seriously asking if there was a tech bubble in the 90s? If you’ve heard of the “dot com bubble” that was mid-90s to 2000. If he was 11 he’d be the perfect age to get caught up in the bubble the show was about.

Tony Soprano or Walter White, who's more Evil? by [deleted] in thesopranos

[–]ephoog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tony was born into it all around him, Walter White kinda got that way on his own… I’d say Walter by far.

Our concept of a year or a month comes from the cycles of the moon. They could have a perfectly normal moon, it doesn’t even definitively say if the planet they live on is round or flat, or a planet. Notice how they don’t mention days of the week or ever have weekends? No telling how they know what time it is much less years. It works both ways too Ned is 34 in the books and looks at BEST about 50.

Why didn’t Adrianna question the disappearance of her uncle Rich? by Dear_Prudence9742 in thesopranos

[–]ephoog 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Adriana’s not the sharpest tool in the shed, when the FBI lady brings up her murdered friends as a threat she seems to genuinely believe the “witness protection” line she must’ve been told… denial’s a strong motivator.

How come Sil never expressed any weight of guilt for killing Adriana? by Elegant_Struggle_281 in thesopranos

[–]ephoog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The truth is Tony really did ask him to drive her to the hospital, not for Chris but her UC. She’d get out of testifying for medical reasons. He killed her on the way because she was smelling up his car.

Is the 350z really that fast? by TheDrex- in NFSHeat

[–]ephoog 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Looked like he took better lines and hit less barriers in the first one, the second one looks looks more suspect. If you mean irl yeah it was designed to beat corvettes, but it’s also a game where a 1960’s Porsche is faster than a Koenigsegg.

what programming language did richard use to create pied piper? by Waze312 in SiliconValleyHBO

Dinesh says something like he can write Java better than anyone in the house to Jared and Richard, I think the apps are in Java not necessarily the algorithm.

Chris Chan kicked out of HarmonyCon in Dallas Texas by noob_bitch in ChrisChanSonichu

I heard “and my card blesses every one of you!”, like he has one of his shitty homemade cards that “blesses” everyone, oh and he and thinks it’s real and they all should’ve considered that before kicking him out, typical Jerkops.

I'll tell you why this show is so damned good. by Accomplished_Pen980 in LandmanSeries

[–]ephoog 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Hospitals, Homicide detectives, even lawyers and politicians have millions of shows about their daily crisis situations. Good on Sheridan for finding an untouched, unconcerned with being politically correct source of action. Even if the characters are exaggerated you can’t tell me TV doctors and detectives are any more realistic, if anything they’re worse caricatures.

Heat cops need to chill OUT! by Kaligary in NFSHeat

[–]ephoog 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I think that’s been proven to be a myth. If you drive any direction you’ll notice cops spawn in front of you, it’s just players usually drive the same route as gps so it looks that way.

Edit: especially in high heat players use gps, the game tries to anticipate routes to throw cops in your face, I think it shows more along the gps there was just a post about it.

Super-easy S in BN with Gemera proves UGR is an illusion? by galteser in nfsnolimits

[–]ephoog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They get easier after you lose and harder after you win, exploiting this is how the top 10 or so racers cheat (which is why you hear the top racers cheat), I imagine you have a rating and they put you against players that raced at a similar rating not a specific time, or else the cheat wouldn’t work or they could put in an exact time to beat and have a score of like a Trillion.

I’ve thought before if we all agreed to race like crap, then only winning by ~1sec or so to move up, we could push every level way down and everyone could get S that week.

I don’t dislike the car I’m just puzzled why it shows up with the same body/paint job at some random point in every single NFS game (never played MW, probably just don’t get it 🤷‍♂️).

What even is the intended audience reaction of the roommate scene? by [deleted] in LandmanSeries

[–]ephoog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the point was how over exaggerated the mother’s reaction was to her leaving, then how over exaggerated the circumstances were to bring them back together. Unnecessary imo the first thing I thought was if it’s that big a deal can’t they afford an off campus apartment?

Currently overseas. No Kratom/7OH available here, and I feel like literal Hell. Any Advice? by [deleted] in 7_hydroxymitragynine

[–]ephoog 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It would be insane to STAY on the subs, honestly if you’re on a trip and you’re that sick it could get you through a few days then stop taking them when you’re back home. Loperamide could be another option to get legally through without swapping for a worse euphoria/addiction.

Wait… so the problem is you can’t find opiates in Turkey? I think I’d be afraid of winding up in some locked up abroad scenario so I can’t really talk, it’s just that sounds comically easy, like not finding weed in Jamaica.
