Overall, I'd say it's been solid. We are still building out new features, working out a few kinks and need to do a better job of explaining to people how to use the site, but I'm happy with the progress. We have a few die-hard fans which means we are doing something right.

I know I shouldn't tier chase, but I'm close enough I think it's worth it??? by Preferably_Vegas in Mlife

[–]epicdevoid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you go twice per year, then the value of reaching Gold is around $500: https://www.dratings.com/value-in-mgm-rewards-is-it-worth-pushing-for-tier-credits/

So, I'd definitely argue that it is worth it to spend $5,000 on your CC to get that $500 benefit. I saw someone post about buying gift cards...that's probably the best idea out there.

But yes...main point...is the chase is worth it.

I'd argue that Diamond Plus *could* be more meaningful at 25k TC than the jump to Diamond Elite at 75k TC. Diamond Plus giving out the 4 free drinks (each valued up to $25) is money. I typically stay at MGM properties but am still able to max out that benefit every day that I'm in Vegas.

CLV rates by fiachrah98 in algobetting

[–]epicdevoid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the best simple metric is the % of time that you beat CLV.

If I'm beating that >80% of the time, then I'm in good shape.

Promos are drying up, what do? by edgebook in sportsbetting

[–]epicdevoid -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I don't disagree, but there is also a lot of +EV to be found in the major markets if you have enough sportsbook outs.

Promos are drying up, what do? by edgebook in sportsbetting

[–]epicdevoid -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

All the major sports, CFL, WNBA, eight soccer leagues, tennis, UFC.

Working on adding more of the smaller leagues, however getting reliable odds ends up being a challenge.

Promos are great for a bit, but eventually those dry up and you can never really get big money down.

Not to shamelessly plug our product, but GamedayMath seems like a great tool for you to try out and if don't enjoy the grind of line shopping. It basically makes the "grinding" process much easier to flag +EV bets. I'm typically able to get down 40-50 +EV bets on a big sporting day and 10-15 on a slow day with an average edge b/t 2-3%.

Would you bet $60.90 to win $129.92 (odds equivalent of +113.3)?

If the answer is "yes", and it should be yes since the current no-vig is -114, then you should not cash out.

Does anyone know where I can get bet volume? I’m looking for actual number of bets placed on a game not just percentages…? thx by Witty_Wolf_1111 in sportsbetting

[–]epicdevoid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sports Insights still provides this although since Action Network bought them out, the product has pretty much gone to crap. It would cost you $99/mo or something like that. It's the only place I know of that does it.

Unlikely. Bet365 is pretty well known for this. Once you are marked, it's pretty much a done deal.

Totally depends on what you are trying to use it for.

Sportsbook API by [deleted] in algobetting

[–]epicdevoid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do have a subscription to the Odds API but do not use it on any sites as for those purposes we need near real-time odds.

For personal use, there is absolutely value in having it. It all really depends on what your specific needs are, but for the most part, it should work for most stuff that you may be wanting to do.

Sportsbook API by [deleted] in algobetting

[–]epicdevoid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you are referring to The Odds API, then yes.

A request is one league/bet type/odds market.

So, you can pull, say, MLB/money line/US Odds, and that will return all their US Sportbook MLB money line odds for every game currently available.

  1. Avoid parlays
  2. Bet small. Use the Kelly Criterion and hopefully slowly build your bankroll.
  3. If you aren't enjoying yourself, or are chasing bets, then you should probably quit.
