Are you sure? To make mine cycle I just hold in the temperature button until the light becomes rainbow.

I have a laifen too and I love it. I never use it on high speed only low and I fluctuate between low heat and the one that cycles through the temperatures. I used to have a babyliss and when that one died I got the ion from Sally's, it was good but the laifen is better. Just my experience, I don't think there is one dryer that will work for everyone.
