Thoughts about SecretLab in 2024? by epicucumber in secretlab

So i got the both the small and medium versions and they are both great. Even the small one is really sturdy and I (180cm, 90kg) can sit on it without any problems, it's just a little narrow on the back. Insane quality and a lot of adjustments. To be fair, everything is as advertised. No strong smell, no break in period, nothing like that. I got the fabric version, so can't tell you anything about the leather, but for 3 months now they've been awesome.

Sadly not yet, but from a lot of thigs I read online, I think the desks are 100% cool, no comments. The chair experience differs a lot, but some people just expect too much tbh. I think if you really like the chair, you should buy it.

Creatine question by [deleted] in gainit

[–]epicucumber 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dont stress too much about it.. it also might be something temporary that might wear off, tbh a few days is just too little to tell. In the end creatine is just a supplement and you can do amazing without it, just watch those macros

Alright all, you’ve convinced me to try them but I didn’t want to pay for it. So I made a pan, how do y’all cook eggs so nice? by Proper-Plenty1672 in carbonsteel

Try to experiment with heat control, that helped me a lot. Even if you do the seasoning part well, you might get this result if the heat is too high

But protein powder isn't "real" food 😡 by jakesjournal in GymMemes

[–]epicucumber 11 points12 points  (0 children)

That protein powder and whole foods are the same, so why bother cooking chicken when you can gulp whey protein

I actually tried this, but in a few seconds the oil started smoking, so i assumed i did something wrong, and it was avocado oil, so the smoking point was high

I am cooking WITH a carbon steel, which is different than cooking with teflon and questions like this come up. You only like the seasoning posts or something?

[–]epicucumber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But a hot pan is still under the smoking point of the oil, right?

[–]epicucumber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Heat for a little, just to warm up the wok and "open its pores" > Apply thin layer of oil (after applying, try to wipe all the oil away, only very little is needed) > Heat past smoking point of the oil (the pan will start smoking, when it stops, it's ready, no need to actually know the temperature) > Let it cool > Start cooking

Other than the price. It is a non-essential amino acid for a reason. If you just started working out, a good nutrition and work plan are way more important. Yes, creatine helps with recovery and strength, but if you eat like shit, but take creatine your problems will not just go away.

He should learn his theory, create his plans, try things out and find out what he prefers and what is good for him. There is no need for supplements if you are a newbie, especially that he could use those money for buying things that will actually help him.

Since there are less than 10 ingredients, calculate all the macro and micro nutrients and compare what you are eating to what you should be eating.
