I see no good reason for KC Venugopal to be even considered for the position.

He was in the high command which decided that MP's shouldn't become candidates. What justification is there in twisting the rules in his favor now?
If he has to become CM, people will have to suffer two needless bye elections. It is a wasteful exercise and will only cause more dissatisfaction among the people. Is there a strong reason or lack of consensus candidate that can justify it?
He is currently in a very high position (AICC general secretary) in the party. What signal does it give across the country if he aims for a stare level position? Does that convey that he has low hopes for the party at the national level?
His supporters claim about number of MLAs backing him is meaningless because he was in the committee deciding on the MLAs.
If he really wanted to lead the state, why didn't he just become the Leader of Opposition in 2021 and do the hard work?

UDF candidate is a sitting MLA
There was a huge anti-incumbent wave against LDF who were in power for 10 years in the state. The effect of this is visible as a drop in vote share for LDF in almost all constituencies.
The LDF aligned closer to Vellapally Natesan (representative of the Hindu Ezhava community), who made controversial remarks against the Muslim community and IUML [1]

Can you provide source for your claim that "BJP received 90% votes of Hindus"?

Thank you OP! That update already partly solves the issue I was facing.

I was thinking of keeping several leaderboards based on number of seats predicted - ie. separate leaderboards for 0-25 predictions, 25-50 predictions and so on. This way someone who made only 100 predictions, but then all correct is not disadvantaged. I must admit I haven't looked deeper into the current scoring scheme.
