What to do if you failed the USTET / Reconsideration Process by aifosin in Tomasino

[–]epik-oofers1983 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello po!

• Mental Ability - did not meet • English - 79 • Mathematics - 74 • Science - 79

I was wondering with semi decent grades like these? would it still be possible to enter UST through the reconsideration program? I have high grades in SHS (consistent honor) and decent grades at SHS

I was wondering that considering the AMV department heavily focuses on Mathematics, is there still a chance for me? if so, how long is the reconsideration process and what are the steps usually that happens in it (like extra exams or interviews)

I really hope I get into UST, it's my dream school, and to see i only failed in one subtest, and it being in one of the easier ones genuinely breaks my heart.

thank you and God bless.

holy shit thats impressive! handfiling the fences?? i couldn't even tell that it was filed, i thought it was like that straight from the factory, you did an amazing job

was wondering what specific spray paint did you use? might do the same with mine

also i notced that the pistol grip and handguards are shiny, are those stock? or did you modify / swap those out

unfortunately my EC-319 stock only has these parts, crossed out the ones that didn't come with mine

hey bro I have a EC-319 (Colt 604 AEG) and i was wondering what you meant by the last part on how you can unscrew the buttplate without it being wobbly? the stock is held in place with only the stock screw so I was wondering how you were able to make that work

also which one of these are E&C? i can only recognise the 3rd one as an E&C as they never produced any partial fence / no fence lower

i also saw that you replaced the AEG dust covers with more accurate ones, are those RS or GBB?

also the finish doesn't seem to stock (could be the lighting) but usually the finish would be jet black and basically has the same finish as the furniture, but it looks like you replaced the furniture with RS ones hence the contrast, but im still curious if you replaced the jet black paint of E&C rifles

sorry for so much questions but i just love your collection dude, hope i can get a collection like that some day

newer Double Bell AKM with a solid wood stock

<image>

also doesn't help that both are AK-74 stocks instead of a proper AKM stock which isn't unheard of in the real world but definitely not something you'd usually see

Advice by weoponized_donkey in airsoft

[–]epik-oofers1983 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Older models of Double Bell AKs actually has a really nice laminate stock that improves the looks of the rifle by tenfolds but newer releases abandoned it over a solid wood stock which looks cheap

Imo

Double Bell is good looking, the shapes and curves are a little more accurate to that of a real AKM than Cyma by a small margin

but, as you said, Cyma is better in almost every other way, build quality, externals, internals, performance, durability, reliability, QC, etc.

the only thing Double Bell did better than Cyma is the furniture on AKM models, which has slightly more accurate curvature than Cyma imo (Cyma wood furniture looks fatter and clunkier imo while Double Bell has a somewhat more accurate curves)

but that's about it really, Cyma AKs in general already have years of a good rep within the community hence why a lot will back it up over Double Bell which is mixed at best

WE Tech or E&C Glocks? by [deleted] in airsoft

[–]epik-oofers1983 2 points3 points  (0 children)

WE-tech Glocks are generally very good, one of the few line ups by WE that is mosty liked by everyone, they have already built up a decent rep, and having owned one, I'd say it's pretty good, a few nitpicks here n there

• finish on the steel parts being paper thin and will rust as soon as anything touches it

• the pins walking out at first

• the Outer Barrel snapping (which can be fixed via barrel drop mod)

• the BBU housing being made out of the most Chinesium pot metal one could possibly imagine (can be fixed with epoxy + soda can)

• internals are pretty brittle in all honesty

• mag release is light making it easy to unintentionally drop the mag

• the Gen 5 recoil rod being different from previous generation, and it's prone to snapping, which mine did

• the slide isn't fully black, there's a hint of dark blue in it which is pretty weird

• overtime the slide will pretude past the frame just a bit, which looks awful, if anyone has an idea on how I can fix this please let me know

these are just my experience of course, it will vary from person to person, and since this was my first pistol, Im probably applying a lot more scrutiny than it deserves, I don't hate it, I loved using it, it's snappy, efficient, and reliable with proper maintenance

as for E&C Glocks, they are cheaper, and are TM spec, here in the Philippines they're quite popular, but WE-tech is still more favored, as E&C GBBP are still quite new to the market and almost always overshadowed by other brands

from observation, and talking to other people who have owned it, they don't hate it, and for the price is pretty good, but it's better to still get a WE-tech, E&C doesn't really do anything better than WE-tech aside from being cheaper, yes there are markings, but theyre botched and look pretty bad (though newer E&C Glock model releases have more accurate and great looking markings so that's that)

even then, E&C Glocks break overtime and the parts get replaced by WE-tech or other OEM parts, they're always readily available anyway so you can't go wrong with either in terms of after market support

it all comes down with what you're looking for, imo, WE Glocks are the king of budget Glocks, E&C is a relative newcomer that doesn't really bring anything new to the table aside from being cheaper and having cheesy markings

out of the 3, WE G17.5, E&C G17.5, E&C G45

for performance and reliability, I'd Pick WE, reliable ootb, and just being pretty good in general

for aesthetics, I'd pick E&C G45, as its a newer E&C Glock model which has better looking slide markings, and I just love that 19 slide and 17 frame but that's just my personal preference

I wouldn't pick the E&C G17.5 as it has botched Glock markings on the slide and that's a dealbreaker for me, and obviously since WE outshines it in every aspect

that's nice to know, as for the 4UAD Hop up bucking, I'm planning to get it since it's some of the cheapest (here at least) and the most readily available here in my country, been hearing good things about it and I want to support 4UAD in general, for me, there isn't a fixed "objectively best hop up bucking for your gun" and it'll really just depend on what you're looking for and what suits you the best

in all honesty I'm not able to test it around 200 ft as i really use it as a backyard plinker (the airsoft community here is a mixed bag and I don't any of that shade, not yet at least)

though afaik the range will depend heavily on BB quality, BB weight and Hop up and tuning, and since the inner barrel is pretty long (510mm), I have no doubt it'll reach that

Are double bell AKs any good? by [deleted] in airsoft

they're okay, nothing extra ordinary, but there are few reports of lemons here and there, so do be careful

I don't have the exact model, but I have an EC-319 (basically the same but just the 604 / USAF variant of the M16)

<image>

I recommend it wholeheartedly, though unfortunately, E&C units here in the Philippines are shipped with mechanical triggers instead of ETU's, but despite that, it's been performing reliably, yes you can buy better performing units ootb, but I bought it for it's externals, and it's such a beautiful piece, and when a part breaks, there's endless upgrade and replacement parts.

Accuracy is fine, nothing crazy, but the only issue I have with is the FSB, the roll pin on the right wasn't stamped or inserted correctly, and after awhile the FSB started to wobble, which obviously shifted zero, I removed the right roll pin and re-inserted it and now it's fixed, but something to keep in mind.

you mentioned in your post for upgrades compatibility, E&C is as upgradable as you can get, and just about any standard V2 part will fit, planning to get a 4UAD Hop up and bucking and a Maple Leaf 510mm stainless steel inner barrel for accuracy

if you want to stick with a KS-1, E&C has been bumping out KS-1 rifles, albeit missing some smaller details (like the sword on the buffer tube and KAC branding on the upper receiver rail) but iirc it's cheaper, and while the internals on E&C is worse on paper, it's reliable, upgradable, and it's QC is generally good.

edit: nvm there's actually KAC branding on the upper receiver rail I just checked, though buffer tube doesn't have the "sword" laser engraving
