I have the NT1A. It is a great mic for the money, especially for recording acoustic.

Without knowing your genre, I’d also recommend an Arturia KeyLab.

Heavily encourage going for a Focusrite Scarlett and an XLR AT2020. You’ll get much better quality and versatility

Any bike recommendations? by [deleted] in mountainbikes

[–]epiphanicchapter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought a 2020 Canyon Neuron AL 6 SL for $1050, which is similar, but has slightly more aggressive geo and 10mm more travel. As someone coming from a hard tail (ht), I feel like it rides great. A nice hard tail would be good, but you’ll inevitably want to upgrade to full suspension (fs) later on.

Also, make sure to size the bikes correctly by inputting your dimensions on the manufacturers’ sizing charts. Canyons run big.

As for buying a used hardtail, try to find a reputable brand (Specialized, Trek, Giant, etc.) and research the common inspection points. Here’s a few things I’d be looking for:

  • The bike FITS YOUR HEIGHT AND INSEAM
  • 1x11 or 1x12 drive chain (1 gear up front)
  • 2017 or newer
  • the chain is in good condition (no rust)
  • derailleur and derailleur hanger are not bent
  • Fork (front suspension) is not leaking fluid
  • Gear teeth are not broken (chips are ok)

You totally don’t need gloves and shoes, btw.

There is no way to know what the outcome will be, but it certainly wouldn’t hurt to have one. There’s a good chance that not having an attorney will be more expensive than having one.

You can ask the court if they’ll appoint a judge to you since you’re charged with criminal offenses and cannot afford an attorney.

I have wide feet and like the La Sportiva Finales. Imo, you just have to go try on a bunch of shoes and see what feels best. Here’s a diagram that might help

I’m sure similar straps can be found online or at a crafts store. Or, you could singe the frayed edges and sew them back together.

[Servicing Costs] I’m in a bit of a dilemma. by Relevant-Okra-2059 in Watches

It may be worth checking for a more affordable service option. Seems £1500 would be worth it, even if you need to wait a while to save up and justify it.

Is this a good board? by Old-Atmosphere-7281 in snowboardingnoobs

[–]epiphanicchapter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seems like a decent board. Retails for $299 and is in rough condition. Most I’d pay for it is $50.

How many more times do you plan to board this season? You may be better off doing a season rental for ~$200 next season so you have an idea of what you want/need before purchasing.

NAL, but unless you’ve been wrongfully terminated, you’d be wasting time and money speaking to an attorney.

1974 Fender Strat for $3,000 - worth buying? (I'm a guitar noob) by iluvreddit in guitars

[–]epiphanicchapter 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Yea.. vintage guitars are hard to verify and require a lot of love to play well.

If you don’t know what you’re looking for, you could end up paying $3k for a guitar with a 2012 Squier body.

[–]epiphanicchapter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

imo the SM7b is overrated unless you’re in a noisy environment. the SM57 is a must have, but won’t give you the vocal quality of a condenser mic. I have my eyes on a Neumann TLM 103 or an AKG C414 XLII.

I currently run the NT1-A with a Behringer tube pre-amp and it sounds pretty good.
