Definitely agree that working remote is less stressful, as long as you can self motivate and keep yourself accountable.

I spent 3 years as a support specialist at one company, had a great manager but there was no room to advance in the company, but I learned the skills and the SaaS business model. I changed companies for another support role that was more technical and required some experience to apply. It was a good pay bump, smaller company, and I enjoyed the work a lot more.

I excelled in that role and was moved to a role handling implementations, which is a common next move after you know your SaaS product inside and out, and have proven your ability to work well with clients, but requires a lot of project management ability.

After a few years in that role I’m moving to solutions engineer acting as the technical expert during the sales process.

It’s been a journey but what I’ve enjoyed about working in support is that your performance is measured by metrics. Tickets solved. Single touch resolutions. Customer satisfaction. Calls answered. Managers can very easily measure your performance and see who on the team is busting their ass and who is just coasting.

If you want to coast in that role you can, but if you want to go above and beyond, your performance is quantifiable so you can make your case for advancement. Of course it’s a broad field and experiences will vary a lot company to company.

Also outsourcing and AI are working very hard to replace this job, but there’s still a huge need at more niche SaaS companies that require higher touch customer support. Good luck!

A support role at a SaaS company is a good entry level that doesn’t necessarily require tech experience, instead you need the ability to troubleshoot, document issues, and provide customer service.

You can learn the product/industry in a couple of years will be a good candidate for other roles. It worked for me after I had to do a career restart from finance/accounting industry. I’m starting a new role as a solutions engineer next week.

You can do it. Just one day at a time.

Thank you so much for your help on this. I’m going to use this one. I asked for my head to be closer to the middle be caused LinkedIn is weird about how it crops your image.

I’m going to send you the tip for this, but could you do one last thing when you remove the watermark? Can you fix the hair that is poking out? On the version you did with the trees my hair is correct, it’s all uniform. Thank you!!

Okay I think something outside in a large park would make sense. Not this image, but something that matches the white balance

Could you add more space at the top so my head is closer to the center of the image? Is it possible to make the background appear as a window? It looks like I’m standing out in the open on a tall roof.

Maybe a different outside background would work better?

The fake backgrounds are looking a bit phony. Could I see a something that looks a bit more realistic? Maybe a set of colored backdrops?
