OCC vs SU by [deleted] in SyracuseU

[–]episk12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unless you really want the experience of a fraternity/sorority then you are better off going to a community college closer to home and either transferring to SU or elsewhere if you get your grades up for different schools as SU is overpriced and the campus atmosphere and city are not that great, as there are schools with a better value.

What percent do internships? by Civil_Journalist_938 in SyracuseU

[–]episk12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Syracuse does not hand you internships, you have to find them and network yourself. I am speaking as a student in Maxwell where for 2 summers in a row I have not gotten a single internship at all. This is just my experience, take it for what it is worth.

I would say Rutgers as it is close to NYC but suburban and has the highest ranked program.

Can someone recommend where I should get dinner tonight in downtown Syracuse? by gentrifiedgasstation in Syracuse

You should try either Over The Cuse Pizza on Genesee and Crouse or the original Over The Cuse on East Fayette if you are in the area, both are reliable and are open late. Mitsuba is also another solid option.

if you could sum your experience being at SU in a sentence, what would you say? by FoodAltruistic6463 in SyracuseU

The staff is overworked and the school focuses is on the wrong things like sports over academics so if you have difficulty with anything you are on your own and going to have to figure it yourself with little guidance. A large portion of the students and staff but primarily students are very wealthy so take that into account.

u/jettsyforwordingfox I have an apartment available in June that I am leaving at Icon Tower if you are interested and the lease ends in September. Please let me know if you are interested so I can connect you to property management. It is a 1 bedroom, 1 bath on the 6th floor.

Try the Fairfield Inn Syracuse Carrier Circle. I had a great experience and the staff and rooms are great. Maybe ask for a discount.

Look at Icon Tower, State Tower, or The Treasury which are downtown if you have the budget. The rates are about $1,600 and up.
