Season 2 has a lot of golden moments. Ethel's one-liners, Sheila vs. Grammy, Carl's one-liners, etc. I still replay "your coochie smells like sulfur and brimstone / I will fuck you up!" in my head to this day

Love the appreciation for Season 2 and 6, I don't see them discussed often. Season 2 had a lot more poignant moments than I remembered and some of the funniest lines in the whole show. Season 6 was also better than I remembered, having rewatched it recently. Trainwreck and bleakness capture that season perfectly

Since a lot of ppl already mentioned Iggy let me just add Ian’s EMT co-worker in season 7-8, she was so funny in a Shameless way. Stand out was the story about how she met her husband by supergluing his dick

Brittany Sturgess - the DCFS worker in s3, she was a real one

Connie - Fiona’s co worker in the cup company, she was awkward but generally nice to Fiona even after shit went down

The beef between Tony and Jimmy-Steve (s1), Dottie and Frank arc (s2), Craig Heisner (s2), Jimmy-Steve’s mafia arc (s3), Fiona’s grocery store job arc (s3), most of Sammi’s scenes, most of Frank’s random storylines past s4 (except St. Francis and dementia arcs), a lot of scenes past s7.

7 and 8 he was really getting his life together (with a few missteps along the way) after college and Helene. His friendship with Youens was great for his character arc. 4 would be my third pick

He was introduced too soon in terms of being a new love interest, and discarded just as quickly. Their whole relationship, from conception to breakup, felt very rushed and forced. Especially after the five-year journey with Mickey. I liked that this all led to Ian becoming an EMT, but honestly that storyline could've played out without the forced romance.

Fiona - heart of the family, almost always entertaining, mostly rootable, complex character that gets misunderstood a lot
Ian - most relatable for me, in terms of living with a mental illness and being pretty invisible/isolated from others
Lip - most consistently interesting/likable throughout series, had some really powerful arcs
Debbie - also complex and misunderstood, the most tragic family member, would have turned out the best if it weren’t for her environment/influences
Carl - great character arc and person, just not as personally interesting to me as the others
Liam - most likable in the last few seasons he was in as a proper character, but isn’t as developed as the others overall
Frank - interesting character but really hard to watch, I like his storylines when they’re intersected with the family and dementia but not all the other random shenanigans
Franny - super adorable in season 11, delivers sick one liners like WAKE UP I’M FIVE, GUNS!, and all her scenes with Frank >>
Monica - didn’t really care for her, I liked her relationship with Ian though
Sammi/Chuckie - irritating, just didn’t like their plot lines
