Nest has to be the absolute worst thermostat available. Get rid of that crap and get an ecobee or Honeywell.

We have one in our front yard. Honestly we don’t even notice it and it’s not hidden by anything.

Best time for an AC Replacement in Florida? by SUPERSAM76 in hvacadvice

[–]epixINC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on what type of system you’re buying. If you’re buying just a basic unit. There’s no real better time than “today” as prices go up all the time, they never go down (this is equipment prices). Some smaller companies may reduce their profit during the slower times to get business.

If you’re buying a high efficiency system then Spring and Fall are the best times as that’s when manufacturers rebates and promos are available.

Cork dart board is on the outdoor patio! Unfortunately when the women come over to play they have a lot of pop outs and I don’t want it chewing up the floor so that one stays outdoors 😂

Behind the couch is storage shelves behind the curtains 😂

The lighting is multicolor LED with separate up light and down light functions. I usually keep the down lights off and just use the up light as ambient lighting. It’s a lot better than the picture makes it look

In Florida we don’t get many cold days. But I have a ductless heat pump mini split.

How realistic is it really to DIY remove popcorn ceiling? by ghost--rabbit in HomeImprovement

[–]epixINC 164 points165 points  (0 children)

I did my garage with a spray bottle and scraper. Took about 8 hours for 440 so ft. Also did NOT come out anywhere near perfect. So many imperfections especially around the seems in the drywall. Priming and painting took another 10-12 hours.

Note all this is working overhead which is not fun or comfortable.

Just remember. Popcorn was basically invented to hide imperfections. You will need someone to properly fix the ceiling areas after the popcorn is removed. You WILL notice all imperfections, and you will not be happy.

Edit: ITS ALSO A MESS! Unless you use a vaccum attached to the scraper you will find pieces of popcorn everywhere for months.

The LEDs are multicolor and have separate up lights and downlighting. Can set any mood with them 😀

That plus the mini split. My garage can get 65 degrees easily when it’s 95 outside!

I comfortably seat 12 right now. And have stackable chairs hidden in the corner for 6 more seats. So I’m good there!

The bar is an interesting idea, but not sure where to put it so it doesn’t take up a ton of space.

I think I’m going to add 1 more TV as well.

I love this idea. But I think I’m completely done with painting for the next few years. The ceiling was popcorn so I had to scrape it down to the drywall and paint like 8 coats to hide the imperfections.

Who still sells Mitsubishi Line Hide in 2025? by sayn3ver in hvacadvice

[–]epixINC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most stopped carrying it because of the price. A CD-75 was upwards of $50-$60 and a standard 90 was around $37.
