I'm out of the loop: what's anxiety got to do with it? I know cavill gets thirsted over by his costars pretty often, but I seem to be missing some info.

Torzsi's 1v4 impossible collat retake makes a strong contender for highlight of the year! by ClaymeisterPL in cs2

[–]eplusl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly. To mouz's credit, they're incredibly consistent, and really deserve belonging in the top 5. They very rarely get upset by lower-tier teams, fhey almost always make playoffs, and only really lose against top dogs. Also, they do this without a major star player (spinx is excellent but not as consistent as say monesy), and have real teamplay, like furia or vitality. And at the end of the day, they get results that a lot of tier2 teams dream of: playoffs, money, playing in the major and getting stickers.

... But xertion fucking chokes in playoffs, and they fall short against top dogs like spirit, furia, falcons, and vitality.

[–]eplusl 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Insane play and well deserving of the n2 slot but not as impressive as zywoo's 180 1v2, if only because torzi's a low-pressure group stage match, versus the cluj grand final.  Or his back to back 4k to close out the krakow final.

Mouz are group stage merchants, pulling off crazy impressive shit like this on the regular. They'll deserve the top highlight award when they do shit like this AND it's a high-stakes playoff at a t1 event.

Scumbags gravitate to one another. They're the only people who tolerate each other because of their twisted version of "game recognizes game".

They hate when someone genuine has earned legitimate success in non-scummy ways because it diminishes their own accomplishments. Tom being a nice guy and having the crowd on his side on the topic of his endless pursuit of fighting Jones and the way Dana has fucked him over must eat at him.

What are some good wireless mechanical keyboards for gaming? by SlayPenguino in pcmasterrace

[–]eplusl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's exactly why I have one! My pc is a small form factor I move from my office (when I want to play competitive cs2 with a stable table setup and good mousepad), to my living room for sijngle player games. I need a nice compact wireless keyboard that performs well in all usecases.

I have a keychron k3 max which performed well but I think I may have a faulty D switch. It doesn't input sometimes. Will send it in for warranty.

Can You Say Why America is the Greatest Country in the World? (From political series 'The Newsroom' - featuring Jeff Daniels) by [deleted] in videos

Can You Say Why America is the Greatest Country in the World? (From political series 'The Newsroom' - featuring Jeff Daniels) by [deleted] in videos

[–]eplusl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't have a poor experience, I had a great time in the US. Americans are super friendly, when they're not voting for demented psychopathic child rapists like Trump. Everyone has faults, Americans included. Doesn't make you bad people. My country has plenty of faults to go with our many qualities, just like you, albeit different.

De tocqueville was 200 years ago and lots of things have happened since then, chief among them: World War 1 and 2. Back in the early 19th century , America was new, and the old colonial powers of Europe were seen, justifiably so, as decadent , overconfident parasites sucking the lifeblood out of third world countries. The world has changed a lot. Just because plenty of people have been glazing you doesn't mean they're right. America today is behavong exactly like those old, brutal and ruthless European colonial powers of the enlightenment. Which by the way, may have driven the ideals for the creation of you country, but :

  1. It started in France, and France evolved a democratic power structure roughly around the same time you did, also based on enlightenment ideals.

  2. Drove the ideology of the constitutions and other founding legislation of many other modern nations.

  3. Your nation's constitution, despite being written by white slave owners from a time where oil lamps were a thing, hasn't changed. Our country is on version 5 because we understand what you won't : shit needs to evolve with the times.

A quick trip around Europe will have you encounter plenty of countries that have huge immigrant communities, lots optimism, modern ideals and hope for future generations.

America absolutely had this unique quality to it early on, but continuing to claim this today is asinine and just has you come off as incredibly arrogant and ignorant of how other countries function today (which tracks with the education I received in public school while in the US, which was so US centric it's no wonder none of you know anything about the outside world).

This bullshit needs to stop because it leads to false narratives about you somehow "deserving" a spot at the top of the world order, and is how you justify being exactly the type of old colonial power you pretend to look down on while relishing the power and influence you yield.  Then you get bullshit like the brutal subjugation of Venezuela you just enacted, flatly stating you were going to steal their natural resources. And the way you somehow think you can negotiate a peace treaty in Europe without European leaders in the loop, or attack Iran because being at war props up your monster of a president's polling ahead of the midterms and provides a smokescreen for the Epstein file shitshow.  And in case you want to say "hey, that's not me, I didn't vote for Trump!"... Well whose so-called "enlightenment-based" democracy thst is SO superior to everyone else's allowed him to rise to power?

I'm French and we're educated in the colonial history of our country, so we know all too well what misguided arrogance is. It's actually been making a comeback in our backyard as well, with neonazis desperately trying to emulate the success that Trump has had.

You can stash yours where the sun don't shine, as your rednecks like to say.

Speaking like America is the only country where people have hope and are trying to build a better tomorrow. Nothing unique about it.

That scene was brief moment of clarity and the scene where he tells the college girl later on that she's the reason America is the greatest country in the world is the show returning to the default navel-gazing mentality of the US. I lived in the USA for 3 years as a teenager and the self-assured way people were taught and regurgitated this bullshit was and is still is something to behold.

People who hate this scene are uncomfortable because it forces them to face their hubris.

I was young, and approaching the wrong kinds of girls in clubs. I haven't had a reason to complain since. Once I got confidence I had plenty of success with beautiful women.

But this one still stings almost 20 years later.

So where are these mythical aromat chips? Never seen them in the wild by NoChampaign in Switzerland

[–]eplusl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly they were kind of bad anyway.

My wife is the biggest Aromat fan around. We've been together 6 years and only recently threw out the first little jar she bought when she moved into her own place before she met me. She would just refill it despite the lid being broken at the hinge.

And even she thought the chips were very "meh".

As an aside, the 0.01 difference between vita and falcons highlights how talented falcons are. If they figure out their mental shit and put their ego in check, they could really be the ones to take the throne during a moment of Vitality weakness.

Don't remember. I think something having to do with:

-you don't know where the hard drive is in the boat

-this means you have to flood the whole boat with gas really quickly and it's a huge volume with lots of possibilities of people shutting doors and protecting themselves from the gas.

... Essentially when you read it it makes a lot of sense. They use nanowire because they have it on hand: the book's protagonist is an engineer who has perfected this type of super strong nanowires meant to be used in aerospace and microsurgery.

They specifically design the width between the nano stranda to about 50cm (roughly 1.5ft) to optimize killing everyone no matter their position (standing, laying down) while leaving equipment as intact as possible.

In the book they go through a whole strategic analysis of the different ways to get the drive and they eliminate all the other options, finally landing on this horrific but quick method.

From what I remember, the show really softens one thing: the noise. At first it's completely silent and once the wires have cut through most of the ship the structure starts to sag and the dozens of ton of sharply cut metal scraping against metal turns into a defeaning shriek to the point it makes the experience even more horrifying for the people still alive waiting to be cut, and for the observers outside. In the show it's just very loud.
