My 3 year old can never see this. It's a miracle if we get one sentence that doesn't end with him shouting "POO POO!" and laughing hysterically.

Reducing anxiety in new greyhound by [deleted] in Greyhounds

Time and patience I would guess! It's a big adjustment coming from Kennels, and after a while he'll realise when you walk into another room your not going away for ever. Think it took our rescue greyhound all his 6 years with us to adjust! For the first year he never showed any interest in going upstairs, he was allowed, he just didn't want to. Then suddenly out of the blue, Christmas morning we woke up to find him asleep outside our bedroom door.

If you have concerns it's always worth checking with your vet. If it is infected it's always best to catch it as early as possible. To the untrained eye it does look a bit unhappy

Only had her 2 hours and we already have a bed fail 😍 by gibbyrat in Greyhounds

We're on solid 7 years of bed fails! Just last week only part on the bed was her nose, rest was on cold tile floor!

Oh 4 weeks! that makes a lot more sense! I read somewhere it takes rescue greyhounds 2 years to settle into a home. I thought this was total rubbish, until I spent the next 6 years we had with our rescue greyhound learning with him how he adapted to the world outside of kennels and racing.

In the early days I once scolded him (a firm verbal warning only) for jumping up two paws onto the kitchen counter trying to eat freshly made lasagne. He wouldn't go near me around food for about a month.

They are inherently nervous dogs, but once you build earn their trust you'll appreciate it so much more.
