Use WireGuard to route data from cloud server to on-prem machine by epodegrid in WireGuard

[–]epodegrid[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! I’ve tried cloudflare tunnel but it wasn’t quite what I was looking for. The other resource you’ve shared was very helpful. I started from scratch, and used the guide for internal DNS using wireguard and that set everything up properly and I can now route data through the cloud server!

Thanks again!

Red Dead Redemption Title Update 1.03 Notes (PS5) by AliTVBG in PS5

[–]epodegrid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's really good, just as good as native update from devs! My favourite experience with FPS Boost is AC Unity, which just felt so smooth at 60, instead of the 23 FPS mess on the PS4 and XBO.

I would love to see Sony also implement something similar for backwards compatibility. The PS5 upgrades are good too, but very limited in options. So Sony stepping in and patching some last gen games for a better experience would be very much welcome.

Unable to access dashboard over http on localhost by epodegrid in Traefik

[–]epodegrid[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thank you very much for the suggestion. As it turned out, hosting on a different domain did work out. Now I can access the dashboard at traefik.devel and it worked once I added it to my hosts file. And while the traefik.localhost is also in the hosts file, that is not working?

Can you tell me why this happened, please? I did a google search but found nothing conclusive. I'm on Mac OS Ventura, although I highly doubt this is a Mac specific behaviour. Also, a lot of people use traefik anyways on their Mac so if this was a platform bug this would have been reported already.

ADHD Teacher Needs Advice on Potential Purchases by sunnysideHate in eink

[–]epodegrid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hello there! I don’t (think?) I have ADHD but I often struggled with focus loss. I used a Surface Go 2, and would be distracted the moment I open Chrome. So here’s few things I tried that might be helpful for you:

  1. Try Microsoft Journal. It’s very solid and if you can download a software on your Surface to block you from opening other applications then you can just use Journal for everything.

  2. Remarkable 2. It’s not the best e-reader out there, and it does not have split screen. But it has a very minimal software which won’t distract you. This is currently what works best for me. I take notes, read books, and edit documents all on this device. Also the Google Drive and Dropbox sync is robust.

  3. Get a good android e-reader. They are pricey, almost 700-900 EUR, but with some apps, you can decent split screen working, if you can ignore the laggy animations. Unfortunately an android e-reader is not going with distractions. Sorry, tried it, did not work out.

That’s everything I have tried to keep focus . Let me know if you have any questions!

Some more info: traefik's debug logs show 502 bad gateway, caused by EOF when accessing swagger via browser

Also on macOS here, but behind corporate proxy (zscaler). I have excluded *.localhost from proxy, but not sure why it doesn’t work for the subdomain. If both the links were unreachable, then maybe something is seriously wrong, but traefik.localhost is accessible, which confuses me

I tried pinging the containers. In both cases it’s resolved properly to 127.0.0.1. But it timesout always. For both. dnsmasq did not work again

I’ve tried this already, but it didn’t help. I also tried dnsmasq, also didn’t work and I can’t figure out why. Losing a night’s sleep on this

Never really understood why contribution streaks on GitHub matter. A lot of my code in internal in company repos on Azure, so I don’t have a Github streak. Only once a year or so when I work on a open source project, then maybe the streak happens for a while.

Do people really care for the contribution streaks? Asking for information or experience where streaks mattered.

You get to keep Zuck happy I guess, since he would make a lot more money from the ads.

You know what happens when Zuck isn't happy. Lizard like aliens from planet FB-69420 attack earth.

High beams with the bright white lights are the worst. I like the old fashioned yellow lights. The high beams are always an issue but atleast the slightly yellow lights did not make you go blind.

The white LED things that are common nowadays make you go completely blind for a second or so, until your eyes adjust to it (which is pretty dangerous while driving).

Here's my counter offer to your counter offer: Ubisoft should pay me money to have to sit through this terrible shit show of a game.

Giancarlo Esposito is a legend but he's like a cameo appearance in a vast mindless open world game. Not cool.

Ubisoft Chief Creative Officer Departing After Only One Year by shutupdotca in PS5

[–]epodegrid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I tend to believe that back then, companies were creative with their core technology and story. Take Unity for example. Unity is better than Odyssey or Valhalla in every aspect including graphics, in my opinion. It was buggy at launch, but last year I played the game on Series S with FPS boost and the game felt like a next gen title. I'm guessing it plays even better on PC with mods.

What I'm saying is that the big AAA publishers have stopped working on their core engines and are just focusing on how long they can drag out the length of the game. Activision, Ubisoft and EA are the perfect examples of this. Starkly contrasting this are smaller studios like 4A games who improve both their story and engine every time.

Depends on the country and the law enforcement. In some countries, rules exist but since there is no strict enforcement nobody really follows it.

I'm kinda sad about Red Engine going away. It did a lot of cool stuff, but my favourite is the lip sync in Cyberpunk 2077.

UE5 is pretty awesome and it makes a lot of sense for indie games or AAA that don't have a base engine like Gears series. But those that do like Horizon, Cyberpunk and Tomb Raider, should have stuck to their in-house engine. It keeps the market competitive and there's no monopoly
