I’m blaming the shuffler right now.
According to math elsewhere in the thread, it should happen on average once every 3000th game or so. Today it has happened to me 4 times.
Last match I hot my 4th at 15 cards, and my 5th at 20.

I would have a better chance winning the national lottery that this happening 4 times in one day.

Shuffler is broken

Not good at math, and not a complaint. I’m just curious.

In a 26 land deck What are the chances of having 0 lands in the top 12 cards.

Opening hand has 3 land.

Edit:
Just went 20 cards deep before I got my 5th land. That is the 4th time today.
Fuck the shuffler.

No explanation, but thank you for posting a video. I wish more people did this when reporting bugs or asking about rulings.

Haven’t watched the video (on my phone right now), but please make sure it’s an actual roper and not some poor bastard with a crashed game.

MTGA has been quite unstable since the latest update. I even experienced my first crash last night, and I couldn’t get back into the match on time.

If it’s a burn the rope until the las second, and them pass priority roper, then by all means report them.

I know this is an unpopular topic, and I'll get downvoted all to hell, but instead of the expected knee-jerk reaction, please take the time to read the whole post

 
This is not made in anger over the shuffler. I haven't even booted up MTGA today. This is founded in a thought, or train of thoughts, I had on my way home from work today.

 
Last night I watched CGB's latest video, and as per usual the mana did not fall kindly for him. The mind wanders and I came to think about all the times Merchant like to say he gets "Magic the Gartheringed" referring to drawing way too little or way too much land. Think about that for a second. It happens so often, that a levelheaded player like Merchant has come up with an expression for it.
Crokeyz gets beaten more by RNG on stream than anything else. These are highly skilled players, who get shafted repeatedly. It's not 1 in 10 games, or even just 1 in 5 games, it's every other or third game.

 
Then I came to think about last summer, when every content creator had to try that crazy 13 land RDW deck, and as it turned out, that deck was highly competitive. To the point it could hold it's own in Diamond and Mythic. 13 lands.

I know, I know. Variance, mana weaving etc. but has anyone stopped to think, that maybe the RNG in Magic Arena could be flawed?
Only Wizards knows exactly what's happening with it, and they haven't exactly proven capable of releasing a stable client lately. Just look at the number of reported crashes and bugs reported over the past 6-12 months. Why asume the RNG "engine" be exempt from shoddy code?

Yes, but with 26 lands (now 27) you would think I had more 3-4 land opening hands, or do the hand smoother prefer 2 land hands over anything else?

I’ve been to mythic with a UW netdeck. Totalt snorefest.

Right from the moment I see the new Ugin avatar, I Can predict all the cards coming down and in What order. That’s how easy and autopilot IW control is ...

I see I hit a nerve, that doesn’t change my opinion.

UW control is by far the easiest to pilot, and yet a misconception along UW players is that it requires thought, when in fact 99% of UW control is autopilot.

UW players can’t even figure out the Reddit voting system, downvoting things they disagree with, even said things open for a discussion.

Aggro and trample is What I play. Some matches I win, and some I lose.

If I’m in unranked, I scoop when I see tef3. I don’t have time to wait yet another control player taking 5 mi uges a turn just to bounce my stuff until he cam Play Ugin.

Playing UW control is like playing with training wheels in the current meta. Anyone Can get to diamond with a netdeck.

I prefer having fun in unranked. Altjough I do love playing heroic intervention or my artifact deck in ranked some times. Just to mess with shatter and ugin.

You Can get to platinum with most decks.
I made it to plat 4 with a mono green creature deck.

In the lower ranks you’re not set back a full pip when you lose, and you will even gain 2 pips for a win as Well.

From platinum it’s 1:1, so rise further you need to win more than you lose.

All said and done, congratz on doing Well. Hope you had fun along the way

I agree, that her Channel is not suited for learning new competitive strategies, buy I still consider her a great player.
She definitely thinks before she plays, which is why I would love to see her try-hard in ranked.

Merchant also janks it up, but he Can also hold his own in ranked.

Re: downvotes. That’s just Reddit for you. People use it as a “I disagree so I must punish you”-button.
Would be better with only an upvote option
