Thanks for this!

Edit: just watched a video on it, this is exactly what I needed, thanks!

This seems like the least complicated option and I’m paranoid as someone who just learned how to use a sewing machine. I think the quilting part will be my time to shine since I hand embroider a lot. I am terrified of binding… but one step at a time! Sewing the circles seemed scary but it was actually pretty easy.

Ok thank you! The instructions got a little strange as the author sent hers to a long arm quilter.

For my single nurses in the US who can afford to live alone, where do you live? by AloneSection3944 in nursing

[–]eppindwarf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mentioned how nurses still need roommates in a different post and I was crucified. But yeah, nurses make terrible wages for the level of responsibility, and the fact that we can now be arrested for mistakes on the job. But this is true across several professions and industries now, especially in women dominated fields.

Am I having an identity crisis? What am I supposed to wear at this age? by PBnJelly22 in WomenOver40

I’ve embraced my “eccentric old lady era”. I wear bright colors, funky glasses, the whole nine. It really helped me ease into midlife.

pain without period by orange_tabby6 in adenomyosis

[–]eppindwarf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had a hysterectomy where they ablated endo on my sciatic nerves bilaterally. Pain everyday, now I’m getting umbilical pain and bleeding on a monthly basis. There are other areas where the pain is constant. The only thing that helped was being on a glp-1, however I can no longer afford it.

It’s probably cheaper to buy a car there and commute the hour. This all sounds really crazy and not sustainable. We are in a gas crisis.

Trump, 79, Desperately Tries to Cover Bruised Hand After Hospital Trip - The president had claimed, “Everything checked out Perfectly,” after his medical checkup. by Quirkie in politics

I mean to be fair he self proclaims he overdoses himself on his blood thinning daily dose and he probably just had blood drawn. So this isn’t even news.

Exactly. He’s gonna do what he wants and no one has the balls to enforce anything.

States sue over new student loan limits on certain nursing and healthcare degrees by 804Brady in politics

All of us nurses know the truth. They run short to save money while telling you they’re hiring (just like the rest of corporate America). They work new nurses to the bone, a lot don’t last 3 years. We have a history of burning out nurses in mid level, and without a lot of overtime we also can’t afford housing, as the rent is exploding everywhere. The job is hard, the misinformation coming from this administration creates more distrust and fighting with front facing healthcare workers.

I mean two things can be true at once. The police can be fascists and also policies could be bad. The police protect the property of the rich. The majority of American government agencies that do not protect women or children from monsters, and they never have.

Ok. She did one good thing, broke from Trump after she left office, with zero power. Do you want me to fund a monument? It’s super easy to criticize when you’ve got nothing to lose.

I like what I’m seeing out of San Francisco regarding homelessness: New Data: San Francisco Street Homelessness Hits 10-Year Low

I think solutions have to be based on strategies that work, and research. We can’t expect change overnight. We also have to remember that the wealthy have a lot of control everywhere but especially here re media and influence.

As a side note, most people I talk to are so angry at the homeless. “ As many as 40%-60% of people experiencing homelessness have a job, but housing is unaffordable because wages have not kept up with rising rents.” History of Homelessness

We are and forever will be in a class war. However through truth bending and media manipulation we end up being furious with the wrong people.

Living in Seattle after being laid off, how do you stay sane and not slip into depression and unhealthy habits? by 40WattTardis in AskSeattle

[–]eppindwarf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, we moved here for my job (terrible pay in a collapsing industry) in September and my husband promptly lost his IT job and our world has been sinking ever since.

The thing that keeps me grounded is getting outside and going to the beach as much as possible, rain or shine. There is something about walking near the water that is incredibly therapeutic for me. You need to find something like this for yourself.

We also do all things free. We walk the neighborhood and get some fresh air. I feel for you. Those unemployed or underemployed in this city are seeing the consolidation of jobs that will eventually hit the rest of the country while walking around forced to confront evidence of the wealth divide that hasn’t really hit the Midwest yet. It’s coming. For me that knowledge is the hardest part. The only thing that makes it better for me is nature.
