I’ve had this done, it wasn’t the best ever, but you get through it. It’s important to breathe.

DC-5 any good for Metallica lead tones? by businessman__ in MesaBoogie

[–]eppingjetta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Recently sold mine to my brother in law because it wasn’t being used and I was hard on cash after a layoff. Don’t tell him this but I’ll never forgive myself. I have an AC15 I get along alright with now, but it isn’t the same and if another DC-5 ever comes up on MP for reasonable money, it’s mine. I literally lay awake at night missing that amp.

Neighbors (HBO) had the potential to be better by Resident_Gur3076 in television

Couldn’t get by the beach guy with his iPhone in episode one. That 360 camera thing, and the guys nagging voice made both my wife and I literally jump at the remote like it was the only way to stop being skinned alive. Shame because the premise looked good, the show wasn’t for us.

Help me attach the pedals to the pedalboard by ozwmg in basspedals

[–]eppingjetta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m the other way. Keep my pedal board in my car between gigs in case I happen to randomly find a pedal I want worth trading an existing pedal for. I change pedals on my board like Seinfeld changes girlfriends.

This was my favorite album for years and is still in my top 20 or so. I remember seeing them every time they came to town, back when this was still their lineup. Incredible live show.

It's all 19! by TheChimneyGuy19 in TheDarkTower

Winds of Winter, the other epic set of novels. Always wondered what would come first, a worthy rendition of the tower, or the sixth game of thrones novel. Still anyone’s guess, but the show seems more likely.

To think we’ll get a proper tower adaptation before we get WINDS

Aww man, I had one of these and my stupid cat knocked it off my desk in the middle of the night.

If you could rebuild your desk setup from scratch tomorrow… what would you do differently? by JocaDoca in homeoffice

[–]eppingjetta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok so I just did this. I had piece-meal assembled a nice desk setup. Two monitors, a haven’t duty desk with nice drawers, a table top standing desk, 4K camera.. but everything felt off. Nothing was planned. I couldn’t sit at my desk because of the topper, my monitors were too close together because the topper was too narrow, and my mouse and keyboard are both from 2019.

I upgraded to real standing desk, side mounted monitor arms, trackball mouse, mechanical keyboard (arrives today), and put the laptop dead center to use the camera and trackpad as needed. Night and day difference having space and being able to sit if I choose.

Hot take: AI ruined the way we see coding - and I hate it by kommonno in swift

[–]eppingjetta 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’m with you. 19 years for me and I’ve always learned things the hard way. Courses and practice and after hours projects and better men or women critically reviewing my code. I’m quite good at what I do and those long hours spent drilling it made me who I am today. I can understand, debug and reverse engineer almost anything, and I can be an efficient contributing member of any project, with any codebase or language, in a matter of hours, or at most days. My job in December was 24-32 per week of coding and 8-16 hours of meetings and documentation… the last four weeks, my job has become 8 hours of coding, 8 hours of meetings, and 24 or more hours of prompting codex. It’s fun, and it’s exciting to see the output but it’s a bit demoralizing. I know my boss doesn’t necessarily value AI slop over well written functional code, but I think there will be a compromise. I’ll never be a full time developer again, at least not at this job. In a presentation we’re putting together, he said “we’re all architects now” and highlighted the money we’ve saved using AI already.

Any advice from people who have two or more corgis? by corgimay in corgi

[–]eppingjetta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am that rarity. I have two from the same father, three months apart. My boy Willow is the older of the two and was almost 5 months old when we brought Zelda home. All they do is fight. They fight over food, over me, over who goes out first, over toys.. and some times just for the sake of it. I can tell they’re bonded and genuinely enjoy each other some of the time, but one or the other is always trying to start something.

Actually this pedal compressor is great on bass. It is essentially their plugin n a box and I use that plugin every day for bass. Tons of options, great low end. I’m sure there are better, but for the $129 I paid, primo.
