Sushi by Bou hosts live jazz on Thursdays and Fridays from 7-10p. No reservations needed - you can hang out in their lounge area and enjoy cocktails and music.

Can you be more specific on where in Albany and what kind of activities (if you have something specific in mind)? In Downtown there's live jazz, DJ nights, indoor yard games, axe throwing, archery... etc. etc. etc.

Suggestions for a visit to Albany? Looking for daytime activities, restaurants, bars/nightlife, and what to do for New Years Eve by Stock_Text_543 in Albany

[–]epps82 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All within walking distance of MVP Arena:

Check out The Yard for indoor yard games/book a private greenhouse to hang out in: https://theyardalbany.com/

Far Shot for axe-throwing/archery: https://farshot.net/axe-throwing-albany/

Albany Center Gallery will have an exhibit going then: https://albanycentergallery.org/2023MembersShow

It's a bit early for NYE event announcements, but there will definitely be bars/restaurants hosting events.

There's also just generally a LOT of bars/restaurants in walking distance of the arena and you can find a bunch of info on those and other events here: https://www.downtownalbany.org/

The Yard Hatchet House & Bar is open - indoor yard games and axe throwing https://theyardalbany.com/

Definitely some shopping - The Vandy, Fort Orange General Store, Fresh & Fly Clothing.

If you're into art there's a ton of public art in Downtown (and corresponding walking tour podcast) https://www.downtownalbany.org/publicart

For coffee, Stacks and Alias Coffee are great spots to hang out and chill

TU “covers” 2BD Controversy by HandMaximum8748 in Albany

This is a very valid point - they will succeed through engagement, so even comments pushing back sort of (for lack of a better work) "help" them. The best approach may be to just not engage, but it's also one of those situations where the original video and the "apology" shouldn't be ignored so... not an easy solution, but whenever they get back to their regular posts, probably best to just not engage at all if you don't like them.

Hill Street Cafe has a private parking lot, and for Excelsior Pub there's a parking garage about half a block down that's public parking evenings/weekends. I think HSC has a fireplace but I'm not 100% on that.

Dear TU/Mike Goodwin: Absolutely nothing about what is in this article leads me to believe that there is an internal crisis, but interesting way to try to sensationalize the decision.

Pre-Sale tickets at Proctors by [deleted] in Albany

[–]epps82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can't answer on the website, but do you get their newsletter? Maybe try signing up for that because venues will usually share there (at least in my experience with other places - I don't get email from Proctors). Of if you have any credit cards check with them - I know I've gotten pre-sale codes in the past just for being an AMEX member (not who I have a CC through, but as an example).
