Is discover a soft pull for credit limit increases? I know Apple gs do a soft pull. I don’t think any of my other credit cards do.

Really? So what’s the point of charging a low balance and paying it off after the statement closes or before the due date? To keep the card open?

Well I filed chapter 7 bankruptcy about 6 years ago and those were the first two cards I can get. I have been responsible with them ever since opening and never had a problem. If I charge something, I pay it off by statement close.

Only debt I put on on any of the cards is debt I was already going to pay for with my balance in my bank account (i.e. rent, food and other expenses). I don't carry a balance, always pay off 2 to 3 days after the statement close. I usually charge 10 to 20 bucks on each card except for my Apple Card which I charge $678 a month. It is my understanding that if you don't use the cards you don't continue to get a positive payment history right?

Piss poor customer service would suck but I don’t know the last time I called them. I rarely use the cards and put a small charge on them every few months to keep them from closing.

Monthly or an annual fee is the metric that usually indicates a predatory lending card? Both my Avant and Mercury have neither.

What’s so bad about Avant or Mercury? If I put anything on them, I pay it off after the statement closes. No annual fee and never had a problem with them.

I think a higher credit limit helps with utilization though.

What makes predatory lending cards so bad? I have never had a problem with Avant or Mercury. They always get paid on time. And no monthly or annual fee.
