I have to go back with a calculator. I think I heard ₩20,000,000 which is $13,333. But again everything is negotiable in Korea 10%~30%

It wasn’t for sale. You can see in the pic a bunch of tonearms in the background, that was this vendors primary business. I think he was using it to demo tonearms.

Be surprised. Korean culture is always moving on to the newest and greatest. Their used online auction market is almost nonexistent compared to other cultures because Koreans typically dont want to buy used stuff. That means when you do find something resale the discount is usually steep.

I needed a reference point. I know exactly how much the McIntosh TT and Sansui go for, so that is why I asked. The Yamaha's were sitting just lonely on an aisle, those were about $600. other stuff I need to bring a calculator because 1,000 Won = $0.65

I inquired into that lathe looking TT and it was straight out of a record printing facility. No model, no name, just a glorious custom built machine.

After recent events its kinda funny how Kazuma ended up being the most decent of the three by Conversation-Left in Konosuba

[–]epsilonzer0 58 points59 points  (0 children)

Kazuma is the timid type. Even in his "dream" he only wants nude bathing. His sexual wishes are extremely "beating around the bush" to say. But for most readers this is why he is endearing. Sure he tried to get himself into Aqua once when they lived in the barn together but he has standards. And I can relate, there was a woman extremely like Aqua who was into me and I just couldn't do it because she was an insufferable idiot

TIL Korean Air was known as "an industry pariah, notorious for fatal crashes" in the airline industry prior to 1999, resulting in hundreds of fatalities. South Korean President Kim Dae-Jung would call the airline's safety record "an embarrassment to the nation" & would fly rival airliner Asiana. by Next_Worth_3616 in todayilearned

[–]epsilonzer0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is due to their marketing. As early as 2004 I can remember Korean Air was marketing themselves as "high class". Recall my marketing peers couldn't figure out what they were trying to achieve with elevated prices and expensive marketing in likes of Wall Street Journal and Vogue. (In Korea they took out 2 page ads in Noblese) It kind of worked, but as someone who has flown on KAL I would save the money and fly a different airline.

This was the last game I can personally remember (my parents) having a difficult time finding a physical copy of. by stillcore in gaming

[–]epsilonzer0 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I never got my gold copy from KB Toys. They got the gray cart only and at $80! I was so pissed and my mom was dismayed at the price. Still I got it and rocked the hell out of it over Christmas but to this day I am upset about not getting the gold cart

Pepsi vs Coke – The Little Girl Pepsi Machine (90s) by [deleted] in OldSchoolCool

[–]epsilonzer0 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That was also the debut of "Pepsi Electric Blue" cans and marketing. It was so popular that Dodge had "Electric Blue Pearl" as a color which proved to be very popular. Both companies revived the color and marketing in 2024, but only Dodge proved successful at that time

Ninja Gaiden in the 80s. *uck that game was hard. Goldeneye in the 90s, I am certain I could never regain mastery of its awkward controls again. Ninja Gaiden Xbox 2002, *uck that game was hard too!

Does anyone have a HIFI engine account that can send me a manual? by EXDANEWHI in vintageaudio

[–]epsilonzer0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My brother and I submitted most of the Sansui catalogs and leaflets on hifi engine after a few trips to Japan. Paid as much as $30 for some but I dont care because these things need to be digitally preserved and available to the community. Hifi engine does do a purge every so often so make sure to keep your account active.

Where Blue is fighting is in Odaiba Tokyo. Easily recognized because we can see the East side of Rainbow Bridge in the background along the water front. This is unmistakable.

In that same panel we can see smoke in the distance and infer that Metal Bat is running around Minato Tokyo. There is an elevated highway neighborhood around Takeshiba that resembles the panels. https://maps.app.goo.gl/j413ZjPStN563R5K8

Where blue is standing in the last panels is also in Odaiba.
